Ha ha- if I liked Dux I'm gonna love this

I had no idea the DEVS were members of this forum. This was a "maybe" purchase before. I'm going to the website right now to reserve my copy.THE wrote: Fast Striker is fully 2D and should play fine on emulation, don't forget to emulate with an original disc though

This. But they're afraid of piracy if they release it for Wiiware/XBLA.ex.machina wrote:Would love to see it on a more current system
I can't remember any annoying bugs in any NG:DEV.TEAM production...anyways, Fast Striker will be carefully tested by several German shmup players...Kingbuzzo wrote: preordered! Thanks for releasing this. I just hope we don't end up finding any annoying bugs.
No, piracy has nothing to with it. According to torrent statistics DC has a piracy rate of 1:1000...Jockel wrote:This. But they're afraid of piracy if they release it for Wiiware/XBLA.ex.machina wrote:Would love to see it on a more current system
But personally, i'd assume the pirate / original ratio is way worse on the Dreamcast.
Additionally, digital distribution saves production costs.
Hopefully the DC version won't crash in Original mode when players use their autofire controllers, eh?THE wrote:I can't remember any annoying bugs in any NG:DEV.TEAM production...anyways, Fast Striker will be carefully tested by several German shmup players...Kingbuzzo wrote: preordered! Hehe, I consider autofire circuits = cheatingGhegs wrote: Hopefully the DC version won't crash in Original mode when players use their autofire controllers, eh?

I don't, but let's ignore the whole debate about autofire's legitimacy for now. I'm curious if this means you won't fix the known, game-crashing bug in your game because of your own opinion about the matter. Or because of any other reason, for that matter.THE wrote:Hehe, I consider autofire circuits = cheating
My personal opinion does not affect such decisions, paying customers are always deserving a fully working game.Ghegs wrote: I'm curious if this means you won't fix the known, game-crashing bug in your game because of your own opinion about the matter. We have a tate shmup in the pipeline but the platform is currently undecided...neorichieb1971 wrote:So will the MVS TATE game come to fruition now? I've been waiting patiently to see if your word is being kept.
Ah, alright. No worries there, then.THE wrote:The bug doesn't exist in the DC version anyway, so there is nothing to fix. The bug has something to do with the NG hardware...
My controllers' autofire circuit works at ~16.39 Hz, so a rate of fire of a bit over 16 shots per second is achieved. I can't do that (my best on a Hudson Shooting Watch is ~12/second) and I'm not willing to put extra exertion on my hands and wrists in an effort to get there. Takahashi Meijin, however, can do it so others can as well. What's important here isn't how fast a human (or machine) can tap a button, but that the game does indeed crash when too high a rate of fire is achieved in Original mode. The crash might be triggered by a lower rate of fire as well, so it could be possible for a player who's not Takahashi Meijin playing on a normal, unmodified MVS cab to crash the game simply by tapping the fire button as fast as he can.RHE wrote:When human skills can trigger as fast as the autofire rate I'd say its legit. Proof us you can Ghegs.
And don't be mean just because the game doesn't like your beloved autofire hardware.
Nah, you summed up the small issue quite nicely. There isn't much to add from my side, thanks for clarifying!Ghegs wrote:We can talk about autofire and its pros and cons over PMs if you like.
Find out:chempop wrote:Damn it, now I'm super curious how many times I can press a button in a single second
At least that's what you told me when we talked about it at the shmeet >_>THE wrote:No, piracy has nothing to with it.Jockel wrote:This. But they're afraid of piracy if they release it for Wiiware/XBLA.ex.machina wrote:Would love to see it on a more current system

I did not buy yet simply because the timing of your release did not coincide with me having tons of spare cash. Now the DC version is coming out I might just get that. I do have 4 cabinets though, so having the MVS version is still desirable. I don't know if its still available or not.THE wrote:We have a tate shmup in the pipeline but the platform is currently undecided...neorichieb1971 wrote:So will the MVS TATE game come to fruition now? If you purchased Fast Striker for MVS, you increased the chance for future MVS titles...
@Ghegs
Ohoh, I didn't wanted to start an autofire debate, but it seems too late...
Aah, okay. We had a strategy change in the meantime. Now, as we release it on DC, we will get raped by pirates to unconscious anywaysJockel wrote: At least that's what you told me when we talked about it at the shmeet >_>

All psikyo games definitely boast some damn fine sprites it has to be said , especially the last gen of releases .neorichieb1971 wrote:I did not buy yet simply because the timing of your release did not coincide with me having tons of spare cash. Personally I would like to see your games use slightly higher resolution sprites. I put on Strikers 1945 2 yesterday, damn that game has some nice sprites.
This might be a good time to give a heads up for this:ex.machina wrote:Find out:chempop wrote:Damn it, now I'm super curious how many times I can press a button in a single second
