Don't worry about that. The 360 port will have stereo sound. At a higher sample rate than the PCB too if the other ports are anything to go by.

I played the full version and beat it on a coin after a few tries. Its very easy but also pretty fun. The master players I saw today were already tearing it apart and I imagine they will no-miss it with a maxed out score in the next few days. It doesnt feel like theres enough substance so an unlockable mode, 1.5 version or Black Label is in order.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but does anyone have a scan or something on the Akai Katana arcade poster?

So what does the final boss & TLB throw at you? Space ships?

Thanks. I would have loved to see another stage before the last boss or at least they should have introduced another loop and then battle the las boss when some requirements are accomplished.
1.5 version it is on the way and BL too, I am sure of it. I hope they add something else.

Well that looked good. And it didn't look like Futari arrange either. They only were able to do that reflect thing time to time. I'm interested to hear more from some other people on this one.

I remain quite optimistic about this one, since I know if there are balance issues, there will be revisions. And after the aesthetic nightmare that was DS II, this at least looks good.

I don't know if this has been posted here yet. Stages 1-4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu1n13Elvug

Looks hard enough to me, definitely more challenging than Galuda, and DDP's first loop. Looks pretty fun.

You can use it constantly actually. Grab one green item, activate Ninja mode, bounce all the bullets off the screen.

The only Cave game easier than this one is Deathsmiles.

Edit: Oh wow lasers don't even kill you, they just chip off a small part of your life.

Most of the score seem to come from absorbing large gold ingots multiplied by hit counter. As far as I understand, that means:

— getting yourself down to the last life ASAP to extend the ninja gauge;
— spending 90% of the time in offensive mode boosting hit counter and increasing the size of ingots;
— spending the rest point-blanking enemies with your option to recharge the ninja gauge.

If I'm correct with this assertion I'm sure this game will prove to be deeper and way more challenging for extreme scoreplay.

Perhaps they hired some random Yagawa off the street to make fans go ape-shit?

Now that the system page is up: http://translate.google.se/translate?js ... en&act=url it seems to me that proximity to enemies "about to die" when in Ninja mode will pump out bullets for you to absorb/deflect/turn into ingots. Risk/reward anyone?

Not really that risky considering you're totally invincible in Ninja Defensive mode.

Personal preference, I'm guessing. He's credited as S. Yagawa in MMP and PS, too.

yeah, saw that shit and was like :shock:

and then you rise above water level to a gorgeous ocean sky, reminded me of thunderforce 4. The game is really pretty. The boss of that stage looks fucking tight as well, love the monstrous flying yin-yang ship that he summons.

Too bad the system looks like a bit of a clusterfuck. I like the last life autobomb idea, but I'm not really wowed by any other aspect of the mechanics.

Game looks both fun but also thrown together. Kind of reminds me of Homura (bad thing)

Plan to pick up the port though.

moozooh is probably right, it's a bit sad you have to die twice at the beginning for a high score. The scoring system requires the players to be very aggressive and point-blank the bosses to fill up the energy gauge.
That would mean not attacking the boss and wait for the safe moments to put the options of their faces... I hope there's a blue label or 1.5 version coming out to change a little bit the scoring system and/or adding a few stages.

When were they ever good? Hell, they could only write like 4 tracks for DDP, and none of them were good. I guess Galuda's is ok, but it's pretty silly. I do like DOJ's, and what I've heard of DFK black sounds good, but nothing really stands out as being a great, or even above average soundtrack. I really wish they would hire someone who's good at composing, god knows there's enough of them in the videogame industry.

True. It's rare their soundtracks are consistently excellent, but all this self-indulgent guitar crap is real bottom-of-the-barrel. There's usually a couple of decent tracks per OST, with DOJ and Ketsui perhaps being the most consistent. Some of the DS2 arrange is truly horrific.
