Dangun Feveron logo used in manga - help?

Post by shinsage »

From The Otaku's Daughter, or Otaku no Musume

Which lead me to think it was parodying

However, I wasn't sure if Dangun Feveron's logo was a parody of something else in the first place. Is the "First Grandchild Feveron" logo a reference to Dangun Feveron or some popular TV show?

I don't know the manga at all, but considering that it's called "The Otaku's Daughter", I'd guess that it includes at least a couple of nerdy in-jokes, and that this would be one of them. I wish I knew enough Japanese to recognize whether or not some sort of pun was involved...

It says 初孫, which means as much as "Firstborn grandchild". Not sure about any reference/parody, but the logos surely look much alike.

Yeah, a friend said the kanji reads the same as the English text. It's probably something horrendously in-jokey. This manga must have an incredibly specific target demographic. :P
