Hrm....it seems my dream of chasing small children around playgrounds in a giant robot have come to fruition...

Imagine if you fell over though...

I wonder if I could plug my X-arcade into that puppy...

^ depends on whether you can go on a crime-fighting spree with that snes cart or not.
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

I play games like ぷよぷよフィーバー(puyo puyo fever) all the time. Though the ぷよぷ series don't really contain much text, aside from the options menu. Which is somtimes in english with japanese subtitles, or vise versa.

クロノトリガー(chrono trigger) itself doesn't contain very many "はい"(yes) and "いいえ"(no) questions which you need to answer, if any. I've completed trigger about 8 times getting almost all of the endings. And no, I won't open 斑鳩 since nobody from you-know-where would believe my scores if I bothered to take it seriously.

I also have the opportunity to buy this, but it's $55 NZD(roughly $36 USD, minus postage). I may give this a miss. And eventually I'm going to run out of money, because I recently purchased an american Killer Instinct cartridge for SNES for $9 USD. These $9's don't just grow on trees. :(

My other options right now are Super Mario RPG(which I've never played - american cartridge) - $40 USD, no box/manual) and Super Mario All-Stars(american cartridge - $25 USD).

I'd defintely give that a miss. Super R-Type III can be had used for less than US$10. I've seen several over the years at local game stores - the cheapest of which was $3.99.

Chrono Trigger is a great game! US$20 is about right for a complete Japanese version - and it's often US$10 or less for cart-only. Squaresoft did a great job localizing the game - so I think it's worth the US$40-50 for the US version if that's your native language. I don't mind playing Japanese RPGs if I have no choice - but the visuals, music, dialog and cut-scenes are most of the reason I play RPGs (I'm not that keen on battle systems) so I'm always more interested in version with a language I can read fluently (non RPG games like Puyo Puyo are trivial to navigate - much like japanese shooters).

Oh really? Well, nothing to worry about then. I've seen various Chrono Trigger cartridges with a "buy now" of $300 on ebay, and that is ridiculous.

I already have the strategy guide for CT. Even if it is ripped up and put in this protective-sleeve binder, it works. So this seems like a nice addition. I was thinking of buying the PSX version of Chrono Trigger, but no. Back in the times, I did some research on the psx version, and apparently it's just the same game with anime scenes which were added because they tried to make chrono cross' story suck less.

Personally I didn't like or grasp the interest of very many SNES RPGs. There's the forever ongoing battle of "Final Fantasy VI vs. Chrono Trigger" on GameFAQs and other areas, but there's something about VI I just don't like. Probably the world exploding.

I don't like RPGs in japanese unless they contain little text. Which basically answers your question there(if I did, I wouldn't be stuck at the first save point in Sakura Taisen 3 and have difficulties with it even with a translation guide.)

Another thing springs to mind, and that's Sonic 3. Yes, a Sonic 3 for Megadrive in japanese would be really nice. I'm still quite annoyed that this was stolen from my house the day after buying it, which took me half a year to do so.

A few days ago I ended up buying Disgaea from a friend who lives in america. It's going to cost $70 NZD and $50 in postage. 2 hours is all I've had with Disgaea, but it seems like a game which may take chrono trigger's #1 in my book. CT is of course, where my name came from.

Honestly I've never played R-Type III, or any R-Type games for more then 20 minutes. I always thought "Hey, spacecrafts should be intelligent enough not to slam into walls." but people don't always get what they want.

Nobody is buying them at that price! Go check the last 90 days of completed auctions on ebay - tons of cart-only Chrono Triggers go for under US$40 (and some for under US$30). With manual it's more like $60 and complete does fetch US$80-110. But if you are patient it can be had for more like US$30 cart-only and some ultra-patient types have gotten the US version for under $25. Of course postage to your country may bump the price significantly!

Don't forget you can get chrono trigger on a psx double pack for pennies.

Still, it is a nice fine.

I'd rather be chasing kiddies in a giant mech though!

I need $40,000...

I don't think I could sell my game collection and get that much though. Or all of my non-vital organs.

Then again, I wonder if I could even fit in it... given that I'm 6'6''. That'd be some shit.

"I've sold my life's work and tons of organs and all the blood I could... now... I have a mech!!!!

...

...

DAMMIT! I'm too tall to fit in it!!!!! Quickly, someone cut me off at the knees!"
