How do you replenish energy in Galaxy Force II??...
I've played this in Mame before, and I'd like to get it for my Saturn, but every time I play it in Mame my energy runs out, with no visible means of replenishing it. How does energy replenishment work in this game?

AFAIK, Galaxy Force II is not emulated yet by Mame.dave4shmups wrote:I've played this in Mame before

A tip: DO NOT start in the 1st planet. I always had the impression that the 1st planet is some kind of training level ,and it costs you a credit.
I just CAN'T get past that level with enough energy to do anything in the next level.
If I start in the 2nd planet, then I can get pretty far in the game.
Then there are 3 things you must do to keep your energy high:
1 - Avoid Getting Hit
2 - Destroy everything
3 - Do it fast
I am no expert in this game, but think that doing those 3 things will make you have enough energy to finish the game.

It's depressing to think that at best people will only be playing this on Mame in future. I loved the arcade beyond almost anything at the time, and would happily spend ridiculous amounts of money to play the deluxe version again
But the possibility to play it again like that is lost. Like so many Sega hits, this could be experienced as Sega intended it only for a few short years while arcades had the machine. Then (as I understand it) most deluxe Sega simulator cabinets were later destroyed because they took up too much room for even collectors to preserve them.
