"Beating" a shmup

Post by Octopod »

I am have a little discussion of sorts on another message board and I just wanted to get an opinion from here since this is Shmups after all.

If someone "beats" a shmup by using continues would you consider that beating the game?

Only way to beat a shump is by grabbing a hammer and teaching it a lesson.
"Sooo, what was it that you consider a 'good salary' for a man to make?"
"They should at least make 100K to have a good life"

Beaten is the comical version of a normal player's 1cc. It means finished at any difficulty with any number of continues. Please add it to the glossary.

Would you consider finishing an FPS with invincibility cheat beating it? Same thing.
