For the second, I mean that you're not shooting five-way spreads of projectiles, because no weapon does that except maybe shotguns, and it's not realistic to portray shotguns in that fashion anyway (Metal Slug's shotgun is actually fairly realistic). I attribute this to why Contra sucks.
Boogie Wings is another good example, but it's not a prime example of the realism I was going for (Although that aside it's a great game, no doubt).Drum wrote:I know ... Mostly I'm mystified by the political correctness thing ... what shmups are 'politically correct'?
Political correctness? "Peace forever!" "Kill the corporations, they're evil!" "There's good guys and bad guys! Nothing in between!", etc. I follow politics closely, which makes me an enemy of nearly everyone, and I also favor realism, so games that seem politically...wrong or unrealistic make me bawww. Meaning I can't stand playing them.
Prolly the reason why I think we need moar Ace Combat Advance or Glory Days.
Also, my mother works in a coproration as an executive, and she wouldn't hurt a fly. God damn.
