I always enjoy re-watching movies as I'm trying to sleep or when I'm doing something mindless on the computer.

The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, Pitch Black, and seasons 1 and 2 of The Venture Bros. are definitely my most re-watched.

But to me, the most rewatchable, insanely quotable movie of all time?

I recall watching the epic film of Heat by director Michael Mann (the same guy whom created the famous Miami Vice TV series back in the 1980s) on Christmas Day 1995, the resulting heavy arms gun battle showdown with the cops in downtown L.A. was just fucking nuts. I definitely got my money's worth that day being entertained and blown away by Heat depsite it's 171 minutes running time.

Mann sure knows how to craft/direct a cool film such as Heat with excellent character development. It had been said that in this particular film was the first time for both veteran actors Robert De Niro and Al Pacino starring/working together. Their previous film in The Godfather, was filmed seperately for each actor's scenes so they really didn't the chance to work together until pre-production shooting of Heat was under way. The flick of Righteous Kill was their latest joint effort together.

Watching the film of Heat never gets old. Even listening to the Heat Original Film Soundtrack CD is awesome with some pieces done by Brian Enos of U2 fame. Heat was just recently was released on Blu-Ray format for the first time.

I also have fond memories of my first time viewing Micheal Mann's "Heat".
A friend and I saw it on opening day, as we were huge Miami Vice (and Crime Story) fans.
We obliged my friend's mother by taking their foreign exchange student with us.
At the theater my friend's girlfriend let us in the back entrance for free.
It was a sell out crowd but we managed to find seats.
That gun battle rocked so hard sitting up close and in our faces. The audio during the whole movie is incredible, but that sequence just rocked! I loved how even though the shoot-out was over the top, the criminals were even shown reloading.

On our way out of the theater we overheard a few couples (well, husbands) complaining how fake the movie was and how fake the shoot-out was. I wanted to smack those fools!

So here's the good part (as I found out weeks later). The exchange student was absolutely terrified that we were going to be arrested for not paying for the movie. And then he'd also never seen an action movie like that. So the whole experience traumatized him and he wouldn't hang out with anyone outside of his host parents the rest of the time he was in the US.

I then bought the widescreen double cassette VHS of Heat as soon as it was released.
My housemates and I must have played those tapes 100 times.

Great, great movie. My dad introduced me to this years and years ago, and we used to watch it together a great deal.

In fact, another film I can watch time and time again is one my dad introduced me too as a samll boy. I was far to young really, but American Werewolf in London remains one of my most watched movies.

And Easy Rider. I love to just put that on in the background.

Irreversible is perfect for very late night drunken gatherings

For some reason when I'm thinking gatherings and booze, Irréversible isn't exactly the movie I'd naturally rewatch. I mean, maybe it's just me, but watching a girl getting raped and then beaten to a pulp in a single take of 20 minutes (which feel like 60)... I don't know really. Besides some interesting camera work, there's very little to like in that movie.

Yeah, Fight Club is highly rewatchable. When it comes to TV, the Brisith version of The Office takes the cake for me. I've watched the thing countless times and it still cracks me up like the first time. Cleverest writing ever.

The film I've watched the most times is probably the original Wicker Man. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend looking out for it (and avoiding the Nick Cage remake like it's a dog egg covered in ebola). It's worth watching for the songs you'll learn, if nothing else.

Desperado

I don´t even exactly know why, but there are times when I can´t stop watching this movie over and over. Cool dialogues and characters, great action and a perfect soundtrack. Of course there is nothing new in the later watches, but it keeps being very funny and entertaining.

Can´t wait for Machete!

Its all about Raul's wild kingdom no doubt. The flying poodle bit was a gas! I heard he died shortly after being in UHF though.

The commentary with Al on the dvd is very informative as well.

The Terminator is my most watched movie. I also find myself watching good movie fight scenes a hundred times over. I watched the final fight in Ong Bak2 3 times one night.
