Want either way.

Also, back OT, all I'd hope was A: a PC port of any of their newer games [I want a 360, but have no great desire to try to get a J360], or B: Dangun Feveron 2. Or a spiritual sequel to it. Something with lots of fast bullets, because they're slowing them down more and more [but putting more in to compensate]. Or, a DFK port, period. I WANT THAT SO BAD.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Me, too...
I'll have one of those too please.

If Cave are doing a wholly original shooter (and on the earlier subject of a darker tone) I'd love Cave to work its magic with a film noir aesthetic. I know noir is very different kind of dark, and I've no idea how they'd handle the balck and white element (Subdued colours like Rockstar's LA Noir? Or full on black and white with just the bullets and bosses in colours?). I'm thinking an alternate reality film noir with all the views through shutters, wonky angles, reflections in mirrors and bosses lighting two cigarettes at the same time.

As someone mentioned earlier, I want someone to recapture the early 90s Irem apocalypse feel. The Irem/R-Type games and stuff like Abadox freaked me out -- granted, I was a kid, but I want that feeling again. There's potential from Cave, as we've seen from Guwange and Esp.rade (kinda), but it seems they're not interested in treading those waters right now.

New post on Asada's blog saying there'll be two new game announcements in next 2 months, also DS MBL 1.1 coming end of April.

I would love to see Cave's take on mecha. No doubt in my mind, there would be plenty of awesome effects --like blue and pink colored heat coming from their jet packs, leaving a temporary blur as they move. (Much like the in line skates in Jet Set Radio Future.)
I don't see why their new hardware couldn't handle something like that. You could start out in a full fledged city battle, and eventually enter space in later levels.

The pilots would be scanty-clad kitten whores, of course.

In small interview in new Famitsu360 Cave again mentions about those 2 new games being announced really soon, though looks like that 360 original title is still in super early stages...I don't have mag so I don't know all other info, i think someone here will be actually buying it (adversity1? :D )

In same mag 5pb said they have 8 or more unannounced 360 games, they are probably all ADVs but who knows we might get another Cave port from them (that's if Ketsui EX don't turn out to be complete disaster)

Hmm, yes, interesting.

Anyway i just read details from 5pb interview on 2ch, and guess what, they ARE continuing with STG releases
・STGは今後も続けていく計画はある
・AVG、STG含めて最低8本を予定
http://jfk.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gal/1262155991/249

If this is correct then I don't know whether we should be celebrating or shuddering in terror. What's left in Cave catalogue for them anyway, i doubt they could get something like DDP or MMP. And sorry all for offtopic, I know this is Cave thread in a first place but I thought it'd be interesting.

5pb also mentions releasing their games in asia and other places "friendly to Japanese culture".

Bombard 5pb twitter for region-free Ketsui?

I'd bet they'll port Pink Sweets, as it has scantily clad girls, which is in line with their ADV crap. MMP is also possible.

If they just hire M2 to do the ports, while they publish, then we'd have nothing to worry about.

I remember two years ago, when DDP DOJ and Ketsui was announced, 5pb said they bought licenses for other shmups too.

Amen. A compilation with Ibara, Ibara Kuro, and Pink Sweets would be perfect. The Ibara series deserves some respect.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Some people would say that the answer is to be found in your signature, but I'll never played so I don't know.

I think there's a lot to dislike about Pink Sweets apart from the sound and graphics. It's not my type of game, the aura shit and so on. I liked it in Batrider, but when you have to use the aura to create "black hole" like things to absorb bullets all the fucking time, that's hardly what I call a fun shooter. I gave it maybe 1,5 hours in (total playtime) and that was enough for me. It sure is a question of personal preference, so all I love Pink Sweets for are the brilliant graphics and the even more amazing soundtrack by Shinji Hosoe. The gameplay, however, is nuts if you ask me. >_<

I think we should be happy to get any new shmup ports. Hence my  .

And surely if there's a PS port, they'd include a new arrange mode to appeal to those who didn't like the harsh Raizingness of the original.

In this case I appreciate your  , Kudos for general shmup concern

I just thought, if it had to be one of these two, I'd be a bit disappointed if they'd choose PS over MMP.

shinji hosoe didn't compose a cent piece. he did an arrange for the OST (tlb of course) but the music for pink sweets was in-house (kizakura, masa-king, daisuke matsumoto, natsuko naitou, etc)

no, shinji hosoe composed for ibara/kuro

Mhh.. okay, seems like I confused something. I ripped the OST and got some Id3 tags somewhere which included Hosoe's name, so I got the impression. >_<

From Cave, since Espgaluda II, Guwange XBLA are already in the pipeline... could the two titles be Deathsmiles II and that original new 360 title?

As for 5pb, I can probably guess what the 8 titles for 2010 are.

-3 PC ports (WLO being one of them) as mentioned in the interview
-1 Chaos;Head Love ChuChu (March)
-1 Memories Off Series game (just announced, probably Summer/Fall 2010)
-1 New 'Kagaku Novel' series game like Chaos;Head/Stein's;Gate

That leave 2 titles for STG, and if one is assumed to be Ketsui, that leave one more STG for 5pb to take.

Oh, you poor, misguided fool. "Bug" should be singular, and yes, it was on purpose. Some day you will realize this truth. Perhaps you will find yourself sitting next to Yagawa on your next transcontinental flight and he will reveal his secrets over a glass of cheap wine.
