Yeah, I like the Twinbee series in general and Yahho is definatly an excellent game. The fact that Detana is on the same disc for the home ports is icing on the cake.iatneH wrote:ganson, if you play Twinbee Yahho!, I think the charge shot type C attacks multiple ground enemies as well, so you can probably get away without having to bomb at all.
You have to try this game, like everyone else says. I absolutely adore this game, everything is so lovable!
Cute em ups
Well, what self-respecting human being would admit to subscribing to that magazine without some sort of ulterior motive? The real kick in the jaw was that after I got that GameStop card (when getting Paper Mario), I stopped going to the mall with a GameStop because I found a closer, more convenient mall. I think that card was only used that one time, and I was stuck with a crappy gaming magazine for nothing.captain ahar wrote:i'd just like to say that i think it is funny how whenever somebody says they have read Gameinformer, they rationalize it, me included.alpha5099 wrote:Game Informer has stupid quizzes in every issues, and back when I briefly subscribed because I had gotten a GameStop discount card...
I'm not sure if I'll keep my EGM subscription when I go off to college this fall. A part of me thinks it's good to still get some regular mainstream gaming news, but I also barely read EGM when once it was read religiously. I'll probably cancel the subscription and just use the internet, which actually doesn't have the best track record, because I keep discovering that games I would've been amazingly interested in were released years ago without me ever hearing about them.
LOL!captain ahar wrote:i love HP more than the next guy, but i have to favor Parodius on this front (to be fair haven't play Star Parodier).
the imagery in HP while incredible (as are the mechanics, but i digress) they can't touch this:

I beat this guy in SEXY Parodius (J) (PS-1) but I didn't notice this!
Parodius is the best cute em up series imo.

Yeah, before I found this site, I used to read EGM, Game Infomer, and about a half dozen other mediocre-to-crap magazines. Now I'm gradually letting subscriptions expire, as I get most of the news I need here. I'll probably keep EGM; I just really wish that it had a retro section, something even more in depth than what Game Informer has and GMR had, something more like what you find in the British magazine Games (or maybe it's called "Gamer", cannot remember).alpha5099 wrote:Well, what self-respecting human being would admit to subscribing to that magazine without some sort of ulterior motive? I didn't like the Saturn Sega Ages Fantasy Zone. It was a game that desperately needed autofire. Having to rapidly press two buttons, one for shot and one for missile, that's just one of those things that really turns me off to a game. Super Fantasy Zone, from what I've played, seems to be quite impressive, I've got to track down a copy to play.BrianC wrote:There are other versions too! You don't need to import it: it's on the Sega Classics collection that came out a couple months back.ROBOTRON wrote:BrianC wrote:There are other versions too! Indeed, SFZ is excellent. It's gone down in price recently too - it used to be a $60 or so game but now it goes for around $35 in Akiba. Probably around $45 or so overseas. (Yes, it costs yen, not $ in Akiba, but I'm in American mode right nowalpha5099 wrote:Super Fantasy Zone, from what I've played, seems to be quite impressive, I've got to track down a copy to play.

The PAL Super Fantasy Zone is cheaper and, from what I heard, should work fine on a US Genesis.Cthulhu wrote:Indeed, SFZ is excellent. The Parodius Deluxe Pack does not have the original Parodius (the MSX version is the original. Odd how the game started at home and not the arcades). It has Parodius Da! (the first arcade game) and Gojuko (sp?) Parodius (the second arcade game).Danny wrote:Well if you have a Sega Saturn I would strongly suggest buying the Paridous Deluxe pack which is basicly the orignal Parodius and Parodius DA! on one CD. The good news is that it's pretty cheap these days when you consider the price of other shooting games on the platfrom and it's proberbly one of the best shump disk's out for the Saturn. (in my opinion)
