Scored Konami Windy Cabinet and a Domy Theatre in one day!!

Post by Guest »

Hi guys!!!! Was wondering how a Konami Windy city is.Someone offered me one for sale and I was curious as to everyone's input.

Well I took the bait and bought it but I also won a Domy Theatre

Guess im going to be doubling up on my shmups LMAO

Peace on my shooter brothers

I had a Pony Mark IV cab before but when we went to rotate the monitor it broke  .

Now I am trying to locate something to play vertical shmups on.

Does the monitor rotate easily like a Egret 2?

Thanks for your help

* Note this should probably be posted in the Hardware forum. *

Windy cabs are one of the hardest to rotate as there is no monitor frame. The tube is bolted directly to the plastic cab with the help of 2 metal handles. The monitor PCB is mounted on a seperate shelf inside the cab. The windy I bought had an unsuccessull rotate and cracked the neck. Sounds just like the Pony cab. If you want easy to rotate you want either an original Egret of Egret 2.

I can't remember if I saw one of these or not...if its what I think it is (with a 33" screen) then its like the egret and rotates easily on a pivot/base.

That is the one with the 33 inch montitor. It looks very nice.

I wish I could figure out which one I wanted

If you plan to rotate the monitor a lot (get horizontal and vertical shmups) you probably want the domy. Ask the owner how easy it is to rotate it.

If you intend on keeping it vertical, then go for it.

Looks a nice cab.
