to be honest i find it very odd when i hear people complaining about the cost and relative value of PC/console games, especially here...
i picked up left4dead and left4dead2 for like $65usd off steam....i was previously playing a hacked offline single player version of left4dead.....both will get hours upon hours of play....
considering how much we throw down on PCB's its kinda funny to hear people griping about 40bux
like seriously....$65....that wouldnt even cover a dinner at a nice restaurant for 2.....but it will buy countless hours of amusement and entertainment.....
i just dont get how people can throw down 10X that much on PCB's without batting an eyelash, but they have to give serious thought to dropping $40 on a game that lets you shoot zombies....ZOMBIES!!!!
i think the main thing thats drawn me to this series is the lack of most of the things that turn me off most FPS's...too much going on....the premise of left4dead is fairly simple...shoot zombies, progress, get to the safe house...repeat....its fairly straight forward and i dont get lost....also, nobody is shooting at me and killing me all the time.....i can just zone out and thrash zombies....and if i want a quick zombie killing session, i can do that too....its great for just jumping in and out.....
to me, even if i only played it for a few months and got bored, it would be money well spent....i think sometimes people have come to expect to much from these kinds of games....i would have paid $65 to play a game set in a featureless black room with just zombies in it and the only weapon was a kitana....and i probably would still play it for hours a day
people are weird
just an observation, and certainly not an attack on anybody
