FG-1E bulb starters for Candy cabinets
I thought I would start a new thread as this might be a good reference point for some (discussed in Oxtsu's thread).
The FG-1E bulb starter can be found here in the UK -
http://www.lampco.co.uk/results.asp?sec ... %2FStarter
Pretty expensive but at least someone has them.
I found that out of my 2 cabinets one had the starter completely missing and the other was charcoaled. The bulbs look OK at first glance. Hopefully new starters will fix the situation.
Does anyone know how long the starters will last?

Did this work out man? I just ordered one.

Re: FG-1E bulb starters for Candy cabinets
The light in my Candy drives me crazy and when I had it turned around recently I pulled the starter out to shut it off. For a couple days the light never came on, so I thought it was all good. Every great once in a while it flickers but generally it's dark.
I should have taken out the bulb but I couldn't think where to put it that my little kids wouldn't possibly reach it.
Should I just snip the wires to the light, or can I leave the starter out without doing any damage?

I bought 3 from lampco.uk and they arrived whilst I was on holiday. Not had a chance to put them in yet, was busy with the joysticks when I got back.SuperPang wrote:Did this work out man? I just ordered one.

Heh well I can confirm that it will occasionally flicker. It would make quite the boring youtube video though.jonny5 wrote: ummmm....what? without the starter the light shouldnt come on at all....

Re: FG-1E bulb starters for Candy cabinets
The lampco FG-1E starters worked like a charm. Both bulbs are really bright but not in a bad way.
I have to say I prefer the Astro light to the AWSD light. The AWSD is waaaaaaay too bright. Its like someone turning the main light switch on.
Anyway, i'm happy.. got one spare but keeping it. Thanks to everyone involved in this thread.

Is there anywhere else or anyone that has these? The starter in my Astro bit the dust, and I can't seem to find these anywhere. The few places online I found them wouldn't let me place a less than $25 order :/
EDIT: nvm, finally found one:

For anyone else who may be looking.

Oxtsu said he could get some cheap. I don't know his supplier though, PM him.

Will do, the cost of the thing from that site was about $10 after shipping. A little more expensive than I imagined, but not horrible.Biohazard53 wrote:drunkninja keep us updated if it works I need one too.

Just got mine in from Bulb Connections, works perfectly, light flared up like new! Not sure how many this site has in stock or if they can restock them, so you might want to pick them up!
