Question about some f3 games

As I said, I asked Gfront and they said that they were original PCBs. They sell the Elevator Action Returns cart for 8,400. A motherboard costs 3,000. Together that's 11,400, which is obviously less than the cost of the PCB, which is 13,000. So they must have some kind of PCB version, even if it's not 100% the same as the cart version.

Sorry pal, pics or fail. It's one of 3 things:

C.) Proto

None of which is an official release. Why don't you buy it and prove to the world that you can trust one store's text stock list over people who have been actively collecting F3 gear from Japan for years?

I got six F3 carts today, but I'll probably sell a few. I have both Bubble Symphony (Japan) and the Asian version, Bubble Bobble II, so I'll probably sell the Asian version, is there much demand for it?

I had the Asian version of Bubble Symphony a while back with an Asian F3 mobo, and I got about $100 shipped for it.

I only say that b/c I have ordered F3 carts from vendors before, and I end up with extra boards because I don't bother asking anything other than what region the cart is. Works for me.

Top Ranking Stars, Ring Rage I have seen listed as carts, plus I have someone that I can buy them from. I can double verify if the guy still has those 2, but he could be confusing me with just wanting the titles in general. Twin Qix I have seen a cart of, but was too expensive. Could have been a boot too, who knows. Vendor lists are wrong sometimes, but I have nothing else to go off of, so that doesn't really say a whole lot.

Top Ranking Stars - PCB only
Ring Rage - PCB only
Space Invaders DX - Both PCB and Cart. The PCB ver. is not F3 hardware, though. I think they just decided to throw it on F3 cart for old time sake

I've actually been looking to sell mine for a while, and would gladly let my go for a cool $150 shipped, w/ original art.

Oh, and good luck finding Twin Qix. I've never seen one and that is actually saying alot. I've been waiting for one of those boot cart makers to have their way with this game (that and Recal Horn). Also the JP ver. (Twin Qix is the English variant) would be nice (MAME it).

Odd, that Space Invaders DX even looks like an F3 PCB. Not the first time I have seen that PCB anyway, and it always goes for stupid prices; I mean seriously, $200+ is a bit much for what, 3 versions of Space Invaders or whatever? They could have 10 different versions on there and I still wouldn't pay that. I didn't pay anywhere near that for Akkanvader and I would rather play that anyway. I wouldn't want SI DX on a PCB anyway.

Recal Horn was a prototype and never actually released, I found your post from a couple of years ago looking for it.
I have played most if not all of the F3 games on MAME, but much rather mess with real hardware of it these days.

Other stuff I'm looking for that I have yet to confirm:
Grid Seeker: Project Storm Hammer - People say PCB only on this one, which would explain why I have never seen it.
Light Bringer - Pretty sure this is a cart only.
Gunlock (aka Ray Force) - Pretty sure this is PCB only.
Riding Fight - Never seen it, but would not be surprised PCB only.

All PCB only. If you see carts of any of these, they are boots. Ray Force and Light Bringer have known boot carts.

Sorry if I missunderstood you. This thread is about F3 cart vs PCB in the context of what Taito produced originally. The boot talk is to further clarify things.

Dude, all the more reason for a typo. They do the same stuff day in and day out, it's easy to mistype something. Even quoth09 mentioned this:

Taito themselves could make a typo. The defining factor is what exists physically, not what some internet text says exists. If you question anything I have written in this thread, I can post photos of every bit.

Well, I attempted to compile all my F3 PCB photo's last night (which reminded me why I was being lazy about it; I had to drag out my old PC and scour it's hard-drive as well as other backups. Teach me to be more organized, I guess). I'm missing one of my CD-R spindles w/ backups of years of on-line auction dredging. Long story short, I've got everything except for my Riding Fight pics. I'll look in one more spot tonight and then post what I have. Found some surprises for ya'all, too
