Oh good. He backed out.
Wikipedia wrote:Castlevania is a live-action film adaptation in pre-production based on the video game series Castlevania. Sylvain White will direct and write the film. Paul W.S. Anderson was previously attached to the project as a director and writer, but conceded his directing duties to pursue a remake of Death Race 2000. Production of Castlevania will begin in late fall 2007 in South Africa and Romania. The film is slated for a late 2008 release.
Maybe it just won't happen. It hasn't started filming yet... it could still be canceled.

Proud of you for using the search function.

Looks like we don't see a Castlevania movie but don't worry! We still have great games like that Castlevania Wii fighting game to look forward to & that wonderful 3D Castlevania in the works. :(

Thank God above. Now all we need is a bolt of lightning to hit PWSA and strike the dimwit dead.

Paul W.S. Anderson fucking sucks. Thank god it was canceled.

That's my intelligent contribution to this topic.

I wonder if the animated movie still has any chance of being made? It had the potential to be good.

Anything besides what those hacks planned to do ("Castlevania with a Sword, GENIUS!") is welcome at this point.

Yeah, come to think of it, there's always Underworld.

Still would enjoy that more than these new CVs - the last CV I bought and played was Legacy of Darkness on the N64. That was some good times...well...sort of.

I liked Legacy of Darkness. If Konami had combined that game's level design with Lament of Innocence's combat engine they'd have had a really good game instead of couple of decent ones.

I think you're onto something there.

Too bad Konami's leading developers are addicted to "killing the night" and such.

No CastleVania movie then... hhmm.. Wow well, it’s probably for the better, considering how bad the recent Hollywood action films are, they would have most likely ruined it.

I would still love to see a movie or Anime made out of Symphony of the Night.
Yoshiaki Kawajiri would be the perfect choice to bring this on screen, seeing how well he uses the dark/sinister elements in his other Anime (Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust, Highlander - The Search for Vengeance)

What do you mean?
Saint Dragon - AMIGA - Jaleco 1989

"In the first battle against the Guardian's weapons, created with Vasteel Technology, humanity suffered a crushing defeat."
