If You have a choice of a rank game on PCB....
I would have recommended MMP! myself, as it's the most immediately accessible and the simplest of the Raizing-style games, extremely good fun, and is still relatively easy to find (Ibara is even easier to source, but the game isn't to everyone's liking, while the Raizing PCBs are very hard to find now).

Though Ibara is by far the cheapest of the lot, so should be considered (so long as the OP doesn't mind being raped every credit).Erinu wrote:APB is the only choice because it's the easiest of the lot.
Muchi Muchi Pork is very accessible for newcomers, IMO (but stupidly expensive).

Soukyugurentai, perhaps, if the horizontally oriented screen doesn't cause any problem. But it's a egret 2 you have so I guess it shouldn't.
I don't know so much about the rank, so correct me if i'm wrong, but it's there for score exploitation (max rank and have lots of fun with the multiplier or decrease the rank and have lots of bomb bonuses - seems to be two different strategies used).
Souky is the game to go if you like epic Radiant silvergun-ish shooters, same type of soundtrack, same type of slow in-game or between-scenes scrolling/movement/etc, in general same type of atmosphere. Another nice feature is the zooming in and out during bossfights which make them very hectic, feels that you don't have control/bullets are coming very fast from anywhere, you make a Zorro-move, brilliant, the adrenaline is rushing,, the shooter dose,or fix, yeah is adequate - this text is not. So yeah, Souky has that chaotic random bullets from anywhere-type of attacks that I like very much with raizing. when your mind wanders, it will own you. But when you manage to organize this chaos and manage to keep calm and steady in your movements then you're in the zone - you will feel like a cool Clover-Tac or something. it's the peak of your life.
Garegga is cool if you prefer the dark, uniform atmosphere. Batrider is intentionally more of a mix of different styles. The highway stage, for instance, could be taken from OutRun. Sky high could be any shooter, zenobia is garegga and Sewage is turtles.
Ibara is cave. Go with Brave blade, be a rebel.
