I'll most likely buy one of these games for my next purchase in a few weeks. I was thinking of picking up Futrai off someone but I'll get it some other time.
Pick and choose.
Oh yeah, I never played anything Black Label.

Garegga got a very nice console port, so there's less reason to seek out a PCB...
Ibara's port wasn't as good, but it includes Arrange mode, which is kinda-sorta like Black Label...
Offhand Batrider sticks out most immediately, since you can't (legally) play it any other way.

only one of those games I enjoy is Ibara, and even then only the arrange mode of the ps2 version (black label is similar to that, right?).

Ibara is pretty good, but I would go for Batrider too, for the same reasons already mentioned. Is undoubltly the shmup I most played and enjoyed among those. It's a damn fine masterpiece.

I have Ibara for the PS2 if i had a chance to buy the PCB I would. Even though I totally suck at it, I still love the damn game!!!
Edit: Another reason to pick it up because it isn't emulated yet. From my understanding anyways.

Batrider all the way.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Going OT here, but you know, the topic line makes me wonder what the
smelliest PCBs are. I won't ask PC-Engine Fan X! to weigh in because I think it's somewhat beneath 'is dignity.

Really, from looking at the videos it makes me want to fall asleep. I love Manic model on the first Mushi game.
Pork and Pink Sweets is a little too fruity for my taste.

1LCing Original is pretty difficult. I don't know what videos you watch but the rank gets up there in stage 3/4, usually resulting in a death or bomb. There's also the scoring where you have to constantly pay attention to your counter and what color it is, which I'm not a huge fan of but it still works pretty well. You can't tell that from the videos.

I'm curious what you didn't like about Bakraid. It would be #2 on my list to get, with Batrider being #1 of course.

It's hard for me to explain. I found the multiplier system to be confusing. I'm not the biggest fan of the game.

Every single one of these games is completely awesome except Ibara Black Label, which is just a crappy version of the original.

The only Futari Original vids I can find are the ones Khoa uploaded to youtube, and they're pretty boring.
Much like Death Smiles, Ketsui, Muchi Muchi Pork and a bunch of other Cave titles, it's difficult to deduct the playability from simply watching videos of them. Same goes for Ibara, most vids you'll see people maxing rank as soon as possible and doing a lot of scoring tactics and finer points which are not obvious. I can understand playing rank games like Garegga for survival, but you won't get value for money that way.
