Nintendo World Cup - from the makers of River City Ransom, same characters. Ike! Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu, also by them. Hockey Bu is NES Japan only but Nintendo World Cup has ports on Genesis, NES, Gameboy, PC Engine, and PCE CD, under different names obviously

I'll second NBA Jam and NES Ice Hockey. Neo Turf Masters I haven't played in a long time but remember as being fun
