Super Soakers in the UK

Post by neorichieb1971 »

Its getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes!!!

Summer is upon us, so its time for me to dive into the unknown and buy myself 2 super soakers. Since most of you are younger than me, I am sure you have more experiences than me with them. Can you please tell me which ones are the best and why!

Thanks. Was looking at this one.

The temperature around here took a sudden drop and the heat is off so my balls are freezing.

That one looks like it's similar in principle to one I had years ago, which was awesome (way better than any of the kind where you have to pressurize the tank before shooting).

I like the ones that fill up through a hose base loading station.

Word. Pumping is outdated.

These are for taking down the beach. I don't think loading stations are common around here.

I haven't bought anything new for many years, so I am really not up to date on the current trends and technologies.

Back in the day, I carried a XP 105 as a main arm and an old SS 30 as a sidearm, and these were good enough since I did not participate in any large scale battles, only small-ish skirmishes.

I really like the XP 105. Decent reservoir size without being too large and cumbersome, with nice balance to hold, and it pressurizes extremely quickly, so if you got close enough to a target, you could empty the entire reservoir in a single stream if you held the trigger down while pumping and still maintain decent pressure/distance.

My XP 105 has held up pretty well, although my 30 broke down rather quickly.

I had a 30 for a side arm for a while and it broke down as well… I remember getting a 100 back in 1993 and just threw it out as there was a crack somewhere and it was leaking and would not hold pressure. This was last summer

To go sort of off-topic, I am trying to find the model name of this item that a friend of mine had.

It was a foam dart gun manufactured by Super Soaker (pretty sure it was SS and not Nerf), from the early/mid 90's I think. The form factor was like a SS 100 but bigger and heavier, and it had a 6-shot auto-indexing revolving chamber. It was damn hard for us as little kids to pump the thing, it was huge and we had to put the butt against the floor and pump it with all our weight, but the shot was so powerful that the gun would recoil when fired. My memory is vague but I think it had a grey body with magenta/purple air chambers? Anybody came across something like this? I'm having trouble finding anything on the internets.

Super Soaker was such a great product. Man I'm glad to have been a kid with some friends when those came out.

This was my first one. I also had the smaller SS 30.
