I vaguely recall there already being a thread like this...jpj wrote:feel free to mention your experiences of playing under the influence of other narcotics as well
Actually, you should try listening to anything by Sun Ra as loud as possible while playing shmups like Parodius or Space Bomber.jpj wrote:i'm playing dangun feveron at the mo, and this is a serious question. (pm for anonymity)

Sounds like an MSNBC special...howmuchkeefe wrote:I find that stimulants ruin my fine motor control, all but nullifying the benefit of drug-enhanced reaction speed. Monster energy drinks have helped eliminate me from tournaments.
Performance enhancing drugs have a knack for appearing in just about any competition you can think of.
Back when I was foam fighting, there were a lot of fighters out there who'd puff on alupent before tournaments.
I also knew a guy who used to be really into FPSs and would take meth and valium in combination before big matches. He claimed that this was fairly common behavior.

They overexcite your nervous system, effectively making the fuses that make reactions go off much shorter. That naturally enhances your reflexes, but also:jpj wrote:i guess i don't really understand enough about how stimulants affect you.
The difference isn't that significant. Both are used for overclocking nervous system akin to large doses of caffeine. Meth just hits harder.Nate wrote:You don't mean "methamphetamines"...cause that would just be ridiculous.

Not to be a dick or anything but that's completely your fault for not setting up boundaries for yourself and not exercising self control. It's good you don't do it anymore though.jonny5 wrote:its very easy to binge with meth...cuz you go a few days without sleep(or food) and then rather than crashing(like hitting a brick wall) you keep doing more to keep yourself up
and extended sleep deprivation is very bad for mental health and stability
i was speaking more about people i saw using it heavily....i mainly just used it at parties and stuff.....Ozymandiaz1260 wrote:Not to be a dick or anything but that's completely your fault for not setting up boundaries for yourself and not exercising self control. I've played STGs on propranolol, and as far as I can tell it slightly harms performance. Propranolol crosses the blood-brain barrier and impairs reaction time, which counteracts the benefits of smoother motor control. I'd be interested in trying a purely peripheral beta-blocker like atenolol.emphatic wrote:Beta blockers would be the drug of choice as it takes your stress away.
