DS 2 is running on Vewlix at AOU, so i guess it's at least 31khz.
Man, you people read into stuff too much. They've shown previous games on Vewlix style cabs. Trade show booths are all about being snazzy and looking all high tech and modern; they're not going to put a bunch of beat up egret 2s on the floor. Instead they're going to put a bunch of sexy cabs there and then run a 15khz game on the LCDs and make everyone's eyes bleed.

Wow, that video would be awesome if the dipshit filming didn't zoom out, making it nearly impossible to see any details. He was perfectly zoomed in on the screen to begin with. What's up with that?

If it's as good as the first I'm already sold, I love bi-directional shooters.

I agree. Dude's a fucking toolbox. He's zoomed in on the least interesting portion of the game then pulls back during actual gameplay.

Cave disappoint me.

As if the polygons weren't bad enough, the setting is practically identical to part 1's port stage. Even the elk boss is merely a copy of the cow, only wearing horns.

Can't believe they went in this direction. Love affair is over. Fuck them.

It actually looks like they drew new explosion graphics. Amazing. :O

I don't think the 3d look is that bad. The backgrounds look much more interesting when you can actually see the perspective shifting. I never played Deathsmiles 1, so I can't comment on any similarities ..

I think CAVE is just updating with the times. How long could they really stick with 320x240? It's not the end of the world if they move up to 640x480 with some 3d models. Otomedius and Raiden 4 ran with these very modest requirements and they looked fine.

Also keep in mind CAVE has been using 3d models for awhile now, they've just been pre-rendered (like Donkey Kong Country, etc).

They haven't used hand-drawn 2d sprites for ages.

And by "Updating with the times", I really mean "Updating with the times of 10 years ago". :P

i dunno tho...those pics were pretty bad.....

can you even do 3d at 320X240?

it looks hi res....but then again games like futari look hi res from a distance....

hopefully this is just over the top low-res graphic godliness, and not hi-res

***fingers crossed***

So, what hardware are we looking at? Today's FPGAs should be able to handle a basic 3D GPU, but I can't imagine Cave going to the effort just for what's shown in the video, and these days off-the-shelf GPUs are mostly tied to ARM (smartphones) or x86 (PC).
