Man, you people read into stuff too much. They've shown previous games on Vewlix style cabs. Trade show booths are all about being snazzy and looking all high tech and modern; they're not going to put a bunch of beat up egret 2s on the floor. I agree. Dude's a fucking toolbox. I think CAVE is just updating with the times. How long could they really stick with 320x240? It's not the end of the world if they move up to 640x480 with some 3d models. Otomedius and Raiden 4 ran with these very modest requirements and they looked fine.
Also keep in mind CAVE has been using 3d models for awhile now, they've just been pre-rendered (like Donkey Kong Country, etc).
