be patient..

fellow gamers:
IMO i am pleased that any company has taken the chance (financial/time)to develop a new game for the DC, especially a shmup. the fan base may be extremely limited BUT it is there....that is why this web site exists!!!!!, till the game is released.....and we are playing it....be patient, i do not think that the company wants to release a 'broken' game....there are too many on the next-gen consoles already.

Two words for you: Broken Thunder.

And two more: Acclaim Entertainment.

I'm afraid to play Broken Thunder. It might scar me for life.

It has an awesome soundtrack, though.

on the site itself it says that there's a possible janurary release for the soundtrack. does that mean that we might be getting the game as well? I've been waiting forever and thank god that there is a preivew mp3 file of the remixes.

Haha. Sorry, but I'm going to have to decline.

I checked my emails today and noticed in "online orders" folder I had Dux sitting in there since November. I had completely forgot I paid up front for this.

To the guys behind the sell through of this title. I would suggest you work overtime to get it out because I am personally not very happy with the way its been handled.

If a delay is inevitable, all people paying via paypal could at least be sent an apology email. I don't like to have to go anywhere to find out something is delayed if I have already paid for it.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Couldn't agree more. They've been sitting on my money since September (when the expected release date was only a month away).
Rather than an apology email I'd prefer a T-shirt or a poster or some other kind of sweetener to say "Thankyou" to all the people who prepaid and therefore effectively acted as investors in the project.
The release date has been set back and then set back again and becomes vaguer and vaguer each time. This certainly doesn't encourage any future support for the developer, and I can't really get excited about a Limited Edition soundtrack when there's actually no game to back it up...

I saw the trailer (talk about taking the last train!)
I think... ok? Apart from all that eye-busting white (same reason I dislike Radilgy) but... really, couldn't IREM sue them? :D
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

Yeah, and I'm sure Hudson Soft could go after IREM on grounds that "Tactics" employs the same "hexmap" system as Nectaris.

Come to think of it? Why hasn't Id Software tried to sue Microsoft?...and everyone else who dev/published an fps for that matter?

Secret insider information .. the delay is due to the game being rebranded "Last Hope 2 : Electric Boogaloo". >_>

If Capcom couldn't win its suit against Data East on account of Fighter's History being a ripoff of SF2 on account of its graphics, controls, interface, characters, moves, etc., do you think any shooter company has a chance to say anything?

They've had my moolah since summer last year I believe :?. Apparently the early pre-orders were to come with a free poster, I think theres slim chance of that happening now. Personally I think this has the potential to go sour... I sense another Dreamcast conspiracy coming on!

I didn't really care about getting a poster... until the possibility of getting a poster was brought up last May. Now I want my goddamn poster. :P

I'd agree on that as long as you they don't ask you to pay months in advance and finally delay it for multiple times. Anyway, still looking forward to it and hope it's coming soon.

Wow! How nice to see a courteous post on the DUX blog apologizing for the delay, giving a more specific release date, recognising those who pre-ordered as investors and promising a small bonus for the pre-orderers.
Respect is due to Rene Hellwig for such a decent and professional response :)

This thread is funny.

By the way, wasn't the game supposed to be released in June 2008? (edit: yes)

True, however:
The additional development time that the game receives makes it a way better game then it should have been orginally.
It's no longer aiming to be shovelware
