Apple has done a fantastic job of convincing easily-manipulated people that their brand carries some sort of "attitude" and represents a lifestyle/way of thinking.

I hope their business collapses and their shitty overpriced products go with them. Happy birthday!

While the Mac is the one with attitude, we all know the "kewl" system was the Amiga, FTW.

Trouble is, from what everyone says, Amiga's quality was inversely proportional to Commodore's marketing skills.

I may have started using Macs during my PhD because all of the data analysis programs I needed worked better on Macs, but of course I'm just a mindless, easily manipulated sheep who wants to be part of the Apple brand. runs off to worship at Steve Jobs shrine...

I miss the Amiga. *sniff*

I've never liked Macs. Bleargh. I'll admit the software they have for journalists and such is good....but they still suck ass.

Long live Apple!!!!!
Their products are like a barometer for douchebaggery, so I know what people to avoid like the plague.

Judging people by the technology brands they prefer, on the other hand, is charming and considerate.

The amount of rage people carry against this one brand is astounding.

I have a Mac Mini for three years and believe me, I am the absolute counter-example of a brand-attached consumer whore. But Mac OS X and the tight software-hardware interaction is enough to make me never go back to Windows again (even though Windows 7 seems to look kinda interesting). I mean, everybody knows how lacklustre Windows is, but still people attack Apple users for being pretentious hipsters who throw money out their window all the time.

Really, it´s almost as if Apple users are being attacked because they are enjoying the brand. Some people buy their computers because they actually like using them, and not because they have a glowing half-eaten fruit emblem on the case.

Some Apple fans are not douchebags, but most of the biggest douchebags I've ever met are Apple fans. The douchebaggetry of people I've seen in my Japanese classes is unbelievable. Yeah, I'm biased.

My guess is, most people with that attitude have never used a Mac. Which makes me think of an essay I read ages ago...

"Users of Windows computers are often confused at the loyalty Mac users show their computers, and now I see why. After all, if my only experience of computing was with a temperamental, unpredictable, and eccentric machine like a Windows PC, I wouldn't feel any affection or respect for it, either. And I may very well assume (incorrectly) that Macintosh computers were just as unreliable or irritating, and then wonder why those Mac users were so faithful." -- Robert A. Jung

Even now that he's in his 30s, he probably still gets his ass kicked on the local school playgrounds.

And yet companies and schools still refuse to use the thing. Everywhere I go, I have to control click to get the right mouse button function, because people are too FUCKING STUPID TO GET A REAL MAC MOUSE!!!!

I love how Apple can't penetrate the business market, b/c their machines are ridiculously overpriced. I have a Macbook Pro and it rocks, but if I had to buy 1000 computers, I'm buying something that runs about 1/2 the price of a Mac.
