Happy 25th, Mac!

Judging people by the technology brands they prefer, on the other hand, is charming and considerate.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:Long live Apple!!!!!
Their products are like a barometer for douchebaggery, so I know what people to avoid like the plague.
I have a Mac Mini for three years and believe me, I am the absolute counter-example of a brand-attached consumer whore. But Mac OS X and the tight software-hardware interaction is enough to make me never go back to Windows again (even though Windows 7 seems to look kinda interesting). I mean, everybody knows how lacklustre Windows is, but still people attack Apple users for being pretentious hipsters who throw money out their window all the time.captpain wrote:Apple has done a fantastic job of convincing easily-manipulated people that their brand carries some sort of "attitude" and represents a lifestyle/way of thinking.
I hope their business collapses and their shitty overpriced products go with them. Happy birthday!
Some Apple fans are not douchebags, but most of the biggest douchebags I've ever met are Apple fans. The douchebaggetry of people I've seen in my Japanese classes is unbelievable. Yeah, I'm biased.Frederik wrote:Judging people by the technology brands they prefer, on the other hand, is charming and considerate.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:Long live Apple!!!!!

My guess is, most people with that attitude have never used a Mac. Which makes me think of an essay I read ages ago...Frederik wrote:I mean, everybody knows how lacklustre Windows is, but still people attack Apple users for being pretentious hipsters who throw money out their window all the time.

And yet companies and schools still refuse to use the thing. Everywhere I go, I have to control click to get the right mouse button function, because people are too FUCKING STUPID TO GET A REAL MAC MOUSE!!!!Stormwatch wrote:Hello, welcome to four years ago. Apple's mouse may be uncomfortable and overpriced, but it has both clicks.
