My PS3 is collecting dust :(
I'm really sorry you feel that way Taylor, there's probably very little I can say to make you believe otherwise, and there's nothing I can say to make Ceph believe otherwise.Taylor wrote:I'm sorry, but it reads like troll to me. You have ignored everything 'enjoyable' people have posted about the console, such as my list of games in this response, except when you disagree with it (like Heavenly Sword and Little Big Planet). And you reply to even the simplest one-liner negative comment with one word agreements and emoticons.Skykid wrote:Now I own the machine I was hoping all the other PS3 owners would feel comfortable discussing their disappointment or, on the flip side, what they're enjoying the most about the console.
To humour the notion that this is a balanced debate, the only thing I'm really disappointed with is EU PSN.
I have done my best to highlight what I am getting out of the console and what I'd like to see in future, and I've not ignored posts and recommendations.
The problem is that I can't discuss what I'm getting/not getting out of my PS3 without people being biased against me because of previous discussions - it's a bit of a conundrum. But seeing as that is the case, I'm perfectly happy to leave out of it and let you guys discuss it without me in the conversation if preferred. I'm not under the impression that a soapbox tirade against any console is going to shift changes in the market or indeed, actually make me money, and it's kinda disappointing anyone would think I'd actually be assed to bother with such tomfoolery.
But that's always the point that's easily lost in forum debate and eventually you're either a troll or you're not.
I do get the feeling though that if any PS3 owner raised the same topic on here, they'd eventually get tarred with the same brush by someone.
Perhaps next time we meet at Casino for a few games of Progear I can convince you in person mate

Before the thread goes completely sour, I wish to rephrase something I've written before.
I wrote "[Playstation] has no future" but I don't mean that literally. While a catch up with competitors seems a distant goal, I'm pretty sure Playstation will remain a powerful brand in the next years, at least in economic terms. I didn't mean to write a tirade against PS3, although at some points I may have given the impression.
So it's probably better to say that I see its future as bleak - because of the reasons mentioned before: loss of key franchises, shift in third-party policies, several marketing and pricing errors, a general loss of "Playstation identity".

We should all just bring our console of choice (or the one we own) and slug it out in an arena. That's how civilized people solve discussions

And then some poeple who are late to the party bring their cabs and start bashing the console gladiators. The ps3 is actually a pretty mean weapon, but sluggish to hold; hey, we've got differences in weapons, just like in real games. 360 is lighter and better to hold. The wii is really light and good for many faster and shorter hits.
And there will be 360 gladiators wearing spiderman costumes as well to ridicule ps3 gladiators.

PS3 = Nightmare
360 = Mitsurugi
Wii = Talim

I was under the impression that there aren't any region-free releases for 360? I know PS3 is region free cause I've tried it.lawnspic wrote:Also all the big releases for 360 are region free anyway so why not import
Have you tried the 360 for streaming? It's MUCH MUCH better than the PS3 for it. I've used both and the 360 not only has better frame options, but also has a better file system (I have a good 200+ shows and movies on my PC and the PS3 just lists em while the 360 organizes em) and the shows look better due to the interfacing with Windows I suspect.Ceph wrote:Believe it or not, I use my PS3 for streaming almost every day.
<@scootnet> if you were a real gamer, you could jerk it to Super Metroid box art
I have all three..... and I hate them all.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
