Nice to hear it keeps the proximity mechanism intact. Does anybody know how the scoring compares to the PCB Ketsui? It seems like you´re able to get a constant stream of chips from the bosses sometimes, creating new scoring abilities. I know the game is not that far off, but I still wouldn´t mind having the demo right now...henry dark wrote: the game encouraging you to take big risks by getting right up in the bosses face for more points is just like that fat bully in school who used to encourage little kids to run across the road and try to dodge incoming traffic.

Until they fix the game by adding the rest of it, yeah.Octopod wrote:Zweihander wrote:So wait, there's a demo of the DS version of Ketsui? As in there's a demo of the demo of the full game? Oh lolz. I'm surprised they don't want $10 in microtran$action$ for that alone, if the full demo costs $60.

I dont follow. What is broken about it? It is not supose to be Ketsui. It is Ketsui DS. A different game based on the prior. I dont have my copy yet but i assume the whole game will be there when i get it so i dont understand what you want them to add.

so what is the deal with this thing... is it just a boss rush?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I don't know how the scoring works in the full DS game, but in the demo it was pretty basic- get close and lock onto the boss to get 5's, further away to get 4's, 3's, 2's etc.Frederik wrote:"Am I right, people? I think scoring in the full game must be different (closer to the PCB?), because although you could use a regular (non lock on) shot in the demo too, it was useless.

Let's not even start this one again, or we'll get another thread lock, and it might not temporary this time! Let's just all agree to disagree; some of us are excited like kids at a toy store: others think its a waste of money for an overpriced demo...Octopod wrote:Zweihander wrote:Until they fix the game by adding the rest of it, yeah.Octopod wrote:

Honestly - it's a Pandora's box nicely sealed by the previous Thread split...

The scoring in Ketsui DL seems much simpler than PCB. I think in DL you get "1" chips by using regular shot, and higher number chips by hitting the enemy with the central beam of the lock-on shot, and the size of the chip depends on how far away you are at that instant; in the PCB, the size of the chip at the start of a chain depends on how far away you are when you kill something with the regular shot, and then when switching to lock-on, the size of the chip stays the same no matter where you are, as long as the chain timer has not run out (after which it drops to "1" and you have to start a new chain by point-blank killing with regular shot). Oh, and chips only appear when things explode.Frederik wrote:Nice to hear it keeps the proximity mechanism intact. Does anybody know how the scoring compares to the PCB Ketsui? I don't think there is any kind of multiplier decrease for killing things in DL either.
Don't take my word for any of this (if it made sense at all), I am not a high scorer for either of these games.

Shit, I have absolutely no money in my accountStyle-0 wrote:... well, play-asia have it in stock now!
Though, they haven't charged me for my pre-order yet.
Pretty annoying. I had this pre-ordered for so long, I completely forgot about it. Wonder if they'll wait til the 24th for charging me still. Just have to pray the cash I got my girlfriend to jack into my account just now makes it in in time

Where did you see that? NCSX's page lists it for $53.90:bcass wrote:NCSX want a ridiculous $85, and PlayAsia and YesAsia do not mention the DVD.

And the DVD is bundled with all copies. So it doesn't matter where you order it from.

That link doesn't work for me. When I go via the shop, I get it at $58 for the game, plus $24 for shipping (to the UK). There is no choice in shipping method, it defaults to $24.EOJ wrote:Where did you see that? NCSX's page lists it for $53.90:

Well, it's like if they took Super Mario Bros 3, stripped it of the actual stages, and left it for dead as a mere boss-rush game. Then, of course, they'd want the retail price of a full complete game. Generally, when such a thing is done, a game is considered budgetware, and like many half-games, is priced accordingly. ($20 or under) The controversy here is charging $60 for a sampler cart of the actual game.[/b]Octopod wrote:Zweihander wrote:Until they fix the game by adding the rest of it, yeah.Octopod wrote:

Well, when the moderator is a Cave fanboy who goes on the defensive and locks out a bit of conversation just because it doesn't sit well with his Cave-fanboyism... Yeah, sorta.Rob wrote:So wait, 4+ pages of your boring rants were removed and now you're back at it?
As said, I'll buy this game when it's released in its full and honest form.

If there's this much hype surrounding a $60 demo, imagine the celebration when the full game is released on the 360 for $70...Ed Oscuro wrote:Coincidentally, I was about to post "32 pages of 'Ketsui for DS?'"Rob wrote:So wait, 4+ pages of your boring rants were removed and now you're back at it?

What confuses me a bit is that you're saying it's $60. DS games are $30, unless you're talking about importing it, right?Zweihander wrote:If there's this much hype surrounding a $60 demo, imagine the celebration when the full game is released on the 360 for $70...Ed Oscuro wrote:Coincidentally, I was about to post "32 pages of 'Ketsui for DS?'"Rob wrote:So wait, 4+ pages of your boring rants were removed and now you're back at it?

The game won't be released in the US. Th usual price for Japanese DS games is $50+. Importing is the only option.GrimoreLibrarian wrote:What confuses me a bit is that you're saying it's $60. ...for chumps. I've got it on my R4 already, but I've been too busy playing Radiant Silvergun to care. (finally bought the game last week)
