From the looks of it, I think the only proficiency you'll be getting from MJC is just speaking proficiency and such...unless they throw in hiragana, katakana, and kanji later on.
Also, blame Ubisoft for having to deal with an ordinary adult in a kimono.

Oh they have all that later on too, they even have you practice writing stuff with the touchscreen

Yeah, I don't know the hard fast rule - or if there is one - but I've never seen it spelled "kampai" even though that's a "correct" romanization in terms of how some people pronounce it. But really, Japanese katakana/hiragana don't exactly equal the romanized letters. ん is it's own Japanese sound, not an English "n" per se. But you guys know that.
Okay so I just finished some Kanji practice and as a reward Sensei taught me how to order a massage at a Soapland, I think that's all the training I need, brb Japan.
Lolling at all the brats at GFAQs who think this will help them watch anime raws and play JRPGs like it's a fucking magic bullet. You just know they're going to give up in a week. I do have a bit more faith in the people getting this for other reasons though, but not much more. (yeah I'm in denial)
