But it looks like this on Vista:

I tried the standard fix (running in XP compat mode and as an admin) but no luck. Anyone else out there with the same problem?

No problem, actually your pics are working now. Not sure why they weren't before.Square King wrote:Thanks for checking it out, spongdangly. Maybe I just need to tweak it a bit more. Dunno why the pics aren't working, though.
It might be an issue with ATI cards. I'm using and AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ with a NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT OC and 2GB of ram. Also running Vista 32bit SP1.Square King wrote:I have the latest Directx (I think...will double check. edit: running Directx 10) and video card drivers, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, Vista 32bit, Intel Core 2 Duo, gig o' ram, etc.

Yeah, the X1400 isn't the most compatible card out there. This laptop's a few years old, but still going strong. I'm considering a ram upgrade because it'll be good for this system overall, but I dunno if that'll fix the graphics problem.spongdangly wrote:It might be an issue with ATI cards. I highly recommend upgrading to at least 2GB of ram. I don't know how your computer runs anything smoothly without it. I only have DirectX 9 though since my card doesn't support 10 (I don't think that would be the problem though).
Edit: Maybe you guys are getting glitches because you're not using the NOCD Patch. I doubt it but you never know.
This looks like establishing a line of reason to me - take it from me, this kind of graphics glitch happens in PC games, but it's pretty uncommon. I can only think of a handful of games which have bigger compatibility than the usual resolution vs. HUD scaling issues. Aliens vs. Predator don't work with nVidia drivers; Condemned (the first one) has had light/shadow glitches for the last year or so, and I can't really think of much else.I'm Alec wrote:this would be exactly why I don't play computer games. I recall that Dave K. uses a laptop setup on his Mame cabinet. If it works fine for him, it would equally work well for you. ^_~worstplayer wrote:I'm sorry, but with X1400 nothing but problems await you. You can try various driver versions and find one that sucks least (sometimes old drivers work better). Also if you use Aero, try turning it off.
But the only reliable solution is: real computer. Laptops aren't gaming devices.
Erm, what? Laptops have never been good gaming devices, NOT because they're portable and usually less powerful but because many of the graphics cards that come with laptops are not made for gaming.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:I recall that Dave K. uses a laptop setup on his Mame cabinet. You just answered your own question with that link. Vista, no fix available. Further discussion is pointless.Square King wrote:My laptop obviously isn't a gaming rig; I bought it for school, but maybe someday I can buy a 'real' computer and play with the big boys. I'll make sure to get an HP Blackbird because I have thousands just floating around in my bank account.

Raiden 3 isn't fucking Crysis. I doubt it's glitching solely because I'm using a laptop. Others have the same problem.
