Or how about another DIC produced anime series called "The Littles" where there was this family of tiny elves who got into such dangerous excursions with the human world?

do you mean the 'go-bots'?
No. The Go-Bots were some sort of poor man's Transformers, and were made by either Hanna-Barbera or Ruby-Spears.

Most 80s and 90s action cartoons trick you into thinking they're worth watching with intros done by Japanese animation studios.

Anyone remember this? I do for some reason.

I remember the sound of the title being called out (Stunt daawgs) and that's it.

KISSYFUR. Obscure toonage from the heart of the 80s. I always tried to watch this show but it was on really early, briefly and I think I only caught about 2-3 episodes.

C.O.P.S. was also worth watching for the intro.

What's the name of the cartoon with a purple alien lead character with pink spots, who could transform into anything, and that anything would also be purple with pink spots?

Widget, the World Watcher?
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Galaxy High and Kidd Video are also worth noting. Kid Video even had awesome cheezy music videos sprinkled liberally through out the episodes!
The intro was probably the best though:

It's even stranger than that. It's based on a Japanese toy line that was made into a different show named Machine Robo.

Anyone watch that? It was one of my favorites. It had such awesome animation for an 80s cartoon.

That, and Galaxy Rangers blew my mind. Great concepts, awesome animation. Terribly underrated. I think the animation for Bionic 6 was provided by Tokio Movie Sinsha, which explains its high quality.
