Same here. I already made a thread asking someone in Japan to purchase a copy for me on release.

Probably Himeyashop. Maybe White Canvas if anyone knows how to order from them.

I think someone is going to Japan so I might ask that person to bring it to me... Otherwise I'll join the beggars for a copy of this game because it looks damn amazing.

edit: bump. I'm such a thread killer.

Damn if it doesn't look sweet. Can't wait for this thing. I hope the music will also be CDDA. I like Siter Skain tunes.

I also re-checked the option. The game has several resolutions available. Now, since this is 2d, it might happen the same as Subterranean Animism demo: it just up-scales the whole thing, right?

Let me be the first to put his head on the chopping block and say that the demo is not all it's cracked up to be. The graphics are great and it has an excellent sense of cinematic timing. But the gameplay just leaves me cold.

Bouncing back enemy shots, especially tracking lasers, does ungodly amounts of damage and gives a huge score bonus. Your regular shot, even at full power is so weak and ineffectual against bosses that you're better off just waiting for them to shoot something blue at you.

Unlike Kamui, where I'm laying waste to entire armies and have options for how to take things down, in Reflex it feels like I'm taking part in a choreographed dance, and if I don't perform my moves at the right time I'll never get anywhere. I prefer a game where it feels more like I'm in control of the situation rather than patiently waiting my turn.

This is especially bad with the gemini boss, in my opinion the perfect example of a "puzzle boss," one that is impossible to defeat until you learn the trick, then it just turns into nothing more than a test of your patience.

You can now buy the game here:

http://www.himeyashop.com/product_info. ... ts_id/3768

I would like to order the game but my credit card's billing address is different from my mailing address (and HimeyaShop refuse to ship it to my College address).

I need someone in the US to order two copies of the games (one for me, one for yourself). I'll pay for my copy plus half the EMS shipping (you can only ship this game by EMS), plus I'll pay for Priority Mail in the US.

Any helpers?

I've had a few tries at it, still can't decide whether or not I really like the game though. How many levels are there?

Yeah I've managed to get to level 7 but haven't managed to get past it. It looks like the plot gets really interesting towards the end; shame i can't read Japanese.

The rankings say 7, but.........after what I thought was an ending, some more stuff happened, lets just leave it at that

I like what Reflex does with the bosses, however I feel the game loses its flow in the later levels. I hate to say I'm a bit disappointed overall with the game.......the demo levels play great (1-3), but then after that it does feel rushed......I get the impression Siter Skain said "ok, lets just finish this project so we can focus on Alltynex."

In the new levels, there's hardly a "stage" section at all, or a very short one at that.

Am i the only one having problems to discern those blue bullets in a blue shade background/grey sky ? Losing durability's square without noticing is so common and piss me off

Anyway, game is working fine on my laptop (Pentium M + ATI X700) but it's hella slow on my Desktop (Quad Core + Geforce 6800GT), go figure...

I don't read japanese but there is a FAQ for Reflex at this page http://www.siterskain.com/reflex/faq.htm, and, guess what, there is a NVIDIA entry.

It seems to be a list of driver versions compatible with the game. I've downgraded mine to 94.24, since no more slowdown. Hooray

Does this use any kind of special packaging or why is Paletweb asking $24 for shipping this game while all other doujin shmups are just $6 in shipping costs ?

Heh, I like the final battle, saw it on nicovideo

The Kamui ship appears and a clone of it attacks you along with the final boss. Unfortunately, the friendly Kamui ship gets blown up by the boss ;_;

By the way, I messaged the Paletweb guy. The shipping was a typo. He fixed it now.

Every time you complete the game the number of continues drops by 1. If you complete the game when the number of continues is 0 (remainder of soul starts at 1) then something called zodiac master is unlocked. All i could find is a music track though.

Oh wow, does this mean the game has to be beaten 100 times to get it?
Goddamn. (UNLESS Full version doesn't have 100 continues)

Thankfully, you start with only 1 continue. But, if you use up all your continues it goes up by 1 making it very tricky to clear on no continues, especially if you know what stages 7&8 are like ;)

Well, one could always uninstall and reinstall the game to reset the remainder of soul counter, right? (once you have mastered a couple of 1ccs so you can go for the big 'prize' but here the prize seems to be an even harder mode with crazy surreal stuff?)

Good to hear this too. So, did anyone buy the game? I would like to know if it has red book audio like Kamui (which I think contained CDDA tracks).

So what seems to be the general opinion: This or ALLTYNEX Second? I like the shield bouncing concept.

This game is insane. Worth playing for the last 2 stages alone. Awesomely dramatic like hellsinker.

Anyone know how to set Reflex (and Kamui, for that matter) up with a joystick?
