Looks tasty. It's a homebrew for PC I'm assuming?

Probably won't get to play it if that's the case seeing as how I don't run Windows. If it does come out, someone please port it to PSP. I've recently discovered NOIZ2SA and rRootage and have been enjoying them immensely. :D

a demo for reflex came out a while back but then the project was considered dead, much to the lament of many shmuppers. the news that it's back is amazing!

I played the aforementioned demo about half a year ago and I was amazed by all the Rayforce stuff and how he managed to emulate the graphics. (<-- huge Rayforce fan speaking)

I just hope the stages will be a bit shorter in a possible final version, especially the stage with the battleship fleet (stage 3?) felt way too long

This is great news, because I think this game is way better than Alltynex 2nd. Finish this game first. ;)

alltynex 2nd had cool bosses that were ruined because you kill them with 4 seconds of pointblank slashing

Lol, Viper Phase 1 boss?

Don't get me started on the six-point star over lo-rez 2D city texture background thingy...

...but anyhow: what is this, a "greatest hits of shmupping" compilation?

The worst thing about Radiant Silvergun is inspiring other games to have crappy broken sword mechanics.

Good news! Thanks for posting that. I already knew that it was coming but didn't know anything about the demo.

I'm hyped beyond reason after checking a couple of videos of the game in action.

We can also expect a CDA soundtrack, right? Kamui has amazing music so I guess this one will be no exception and using the game disc for something else other than installation is always nice.

Alright! I always wanted a new game that played in near permanent super slow motion!

In all seriousness, is it supposed to play at 1/4 speed the moment an enemy comes on the screen, or is there a setting I missed in the mass of unreadable text gibberish and question marks? I've tried full screen, windowed, 16 and 32 bit color, all the resolutions, and it slows to a crawl as soon as the first enemies arrive regardless of the settings.

I haven't experienced this at all, the bosses usually have very fast attacks in fact. I didn't mess with the settings whatsoever, just played it as soon as it installed. Maybe try reinstalling?

Doesn't slow down for me either

Not a bad little game, for a doujin. I wish I hadn't already played Ra.De, Dai ou Jou, and Ibara tonight though... Because this feels weak in comparison :?

No dice. Fresh install, and I could count the frames per second (4-5 at first, but it slowed to 2 over the water half the time). Guess I'm just one of the unlucky few.

Sorry for this one since it's the usual option: Did you update Directx recently? Also, what kind of computer are you trying to run the game with? Laptop or desktop? (usually some laptops struggle with these games and others can run 'em just fine) The video card? Is it Nvidia or ATi? Just in case, do you leave Anti-Aliasing on? I recall that option killed Exception's fps. Disabling it boosted things to full 60 all the time even with 2000 cubes exploding around.

Some games just don't like manual AA on.

Regarding Reflex, since I only saw it in crappy Youtube quality... The real deal was breathtaking. It blew me away! Amazing graphics, nice 'camera' effects an rotations. Huge lasers, missiles and battleships. Epic tribute to Kamui and Rayforce (that starfleet section rocked so much!) and the bosses were cool and mean at the same time.

And thank god no loli boss at sight so far... though saying this is triggering Murphy's Law.

You actually have a better video card than mine (7300GT), and the drivers are outdated. I always forget to update those...

Ok, I checked my Nvidia control panel: disable Threaded Optimisation if it was on (I have a dual core and that thinh only did the opposite thing it promised) and Vertical Sync, leave it as "Use the 3d app setting". If it doesn't work, turn it off altogether and see if that solves the issue.

If it's not the AA then it's usually the V-Sync messing things up.

Good luck and hope the thing works!

Well, looks like this game's a bust for me. I've tried everything I can think off, tinkered with the drivers and such, and this game is just littered with horrendous amounts of slow down. Looks like it might have been fun, but at the moment, I see no way to find that out.

Thanks for trying though, Observer.

Maybe the game has an inter frame timing loop which overflows on fast PC's :D

My PC is fast and it works fine (just in case you were being serious :P).
More importantly, this game is awesome.

It also runs slowly on my pc (pentium 4 3.2 ghz and geforce 7800 gs card). Perhaps it is something to do with the nvidia drivers? Kamui runs fine (and so does the early reflex demo) so I think they would fix it before the real version is released.

Damn, looks like I'm yet another Nvidia slowdown case. I hope a solution comes about, this game looks great as per Kamui's standard.
