Sega Cd wise:
- Rise of the Dragon was a great game, definitely worth getting (as was said above).
- If you can find it for a relatively cheap price, I still think Night Trap is a decent snag (if you liked/ are, for some reason, interested in FMV games).
- If you're into Lunar, Vay is worth picking up. Pretty much any port Working Designs made for the Sega CD is good (though there may just be the two games). Unfortunately, for me at least, the copy of Vay I had was used and locked up on the last boss of the game due to scratches - good times!

people have listed many good games, but I have to repeat this, just so people notice it.Kiken wrote: Heavenly Symphony/F1 Beyond The Limit
This is the BEST non-3D gfx racing game ever. It's waaay underrated, I spent many hours playing this. The atmosphere still is unbeatable, you really feel like a F1 driver. The racing engine is very solid, the best I've ever seen without using polygonal graphics. My only problem with it is that it's that it will become very easy as you get good with the game (I mean, I won the drivers championship playing as UKYO KATAYAMA. How realistic is that?

If you have the slightest interest in F1 games, you *NEED* to get this. It's really awesome, the best racing game you can get in a 16 bits console.

no shining force CD?

Popful Mail on the Sega CD is one of those stupid little games that just happens to be one of my favorite games ever. That and Sonic CD are my two must-have recommendations on the Sega CD. Playing it reminds me why I like video games.
HOWEVER!...If you can, try to get the Japanese version. You may miss out on the story (which has, perhaps distressingly, been infused with WD humor like the Lunars), but the game is much better this way.* When they localized it, Working designs messed with the difficulty of Popful Mail to a greater extreme than they did with any other game they brought over. They make you die in 3-5 hits instead of 10-20, enemies take longer to kill, and it takes longer to save money. True, the Japanese version was a bit easy, but in exchange for a little bit more enjoyment via challenge, you have to put up with huge frustration and tedium in the localized version. The Japanese version is all about relaxing into some groovy action platforming.
Also, Working Designs took out the names of all the original developers in the credits. What the fuck, Working Designs?
*just don't forget to go into the sound options in the JP version and switch the BGM into mode-2. Mode-1 is really messed up, with the percussion instruments way out of balance.

Heck no. All that game has going for it is the CD soundtrack. The graphics are ugly as broken sticks. Sorry to bash it, it's just that I don't find any redeeming value in it.DC906270 wrote:i had both systems for a while, there is one other game noone has mentioned yet for Mega CD, a shooter called Sol Feace.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.
And the level 6 boss is a complete asshole! Make it past him and stage 7 will barely do anything to stop you from seeing the credits.Specineff wrote:Heck no.
