I dont know any.
I just wonder if there is any shmup that goes one step backwards and not the usual 2D->3D "improvement".
Followup Shmups that used 2D parts instead of previous 3D

I am completely unversed in the world of video games. I'm finding out/realizing that there are game names all around me. I just realized a week or two ago that Thunder Force is not only a forum handle but also a game.
Not only is Thunder Force a game, but it is one of the most brilliant shmup series ever made. Though Thunder Force is supposed to be somewhat lackluster, and II isn't anything to write home about, the rest is pure bliss.
