I lke the ESPGaluda trains, they explode nice, and with bonus fountains of blood fom the passengers.

All three GigaWings have trains, usually around the third stage too.

Raiden Fighters 1 has the train yard level as either the 4th or 5th stage.
Raiden Fighters 2 has the train boss on... the third stage.
Raiden Fighters JET has trains on the second stage

It also seems like 98% of levels in shmups are either a sky level, a port or beach level, a desert level, a military base level, and a forest/swamp level. Never realized how cliche the environments of shmups were until now.

Probably because it never mattered much. You just enjoyed blowing things up. That, and a lot of shooter ideas seem taken from war settings. But seriously, there needs to be a trainyard in Subterranean Animism.

Me and my mate once cleared it on mushrooms. I remember the music was particularly threatening.
