Speaking of memory I just realized that I could now copy games to my external memory card, which I don't think I could do before (this comes right after a system update). I also noticed it now allows you to re-download games you've already purchased. I am assuming this is a new update to 1) allow people's downloads to not be restricted to the internal hard drive, but also 2) have the OS actually track what games have been purchased so that you can't just copy all your games over on to your friend's system.
Hope I'm not stating what everyone else already knows...

Eugenics: you know it's right!
Nice to see Aleste coming. I found shmups unplayable on the SMS. The controllers for the SMS-- and Sega made quite a few of them-- just weren't very good. At least compared to later Sega controllers.
Is Star Parodier any good? You don't see too many vert cute em ups so I might go for that one. Being a Hudson title, would I be right in thinking that it is to Star Soldier as Parodius is to Gradius?
Any shmuppers in Europe or Japan here who have downloaded Star Parodier? If so I am very curious if any Devil's Crush style editing to the game has been done? Because I used to own the Super CD and IIRC, when you fight the Bomberman in the devil costume he is floating over a pentagram. Not a chance NOA would let that slip through for the upcoming U.S. release I'm guessing.
So the next question is, did they apply any translation patches? The dialogue might not be critical, but I imagine the option pod descriptions will be...
Nope, it's all in Japanese however they translated the story for the manual according to someone in the GAF VC thread of weekly anticipointment.
Good week despite no Parodier. Very strange since it's still listed for 7/21 on the official Hudson VC PCE site. No TG-16 VC releases since Feb, problems between NOA and Hudson?
Anyways, these are two titles I've been wanting to play for awhile. Which of the two do you folks recommend more?
I'm having a total Ceph moment here, but I find it funny how availability on VC, (emulation that you pay $$ for) suddenly has an impact on the value of the hard copy, when emulation for free has been available for over a decade, which may or may not have had its effect on the hard copy value.
Don't worry, it's just a temporary setback in the circle wank of price speculation and inflation that will make classic games more expensive than cars within our lifetimes
