Okay, so I know of S-video, RGB and the RF cables... But where do Scart cables come in to all this?
Also how does the VGA compare to this?

North Star Mall only has a Gamestop in it, now (for gaming). Gamefellas, the place you likely found the game, is gone now (thank god) but we're also left with absolutely no stores in town that actually sell imports aside from Game Crazy or something taking a foreign game in for trade because they're not informed enough to know.MadSteelDarkness wrote:^Thanks for the clarification, man.
By the by, hikarutilmitt, how are things in my hometown? Any good shops or arcades still in existence? I went on a scouting trip a couple of years ago, and only found an overpriced ($50) copy of TF Gold Pack 1 at North Star Mall.

^Not a big fan of Gamefellas, eh? I've actually come across a few good deals at one in Austin, including:
Keio Yugketai (sp?): $17
TFV (Sat): $10
Blazing Lazers (complete and in good shape): $5
and best of all, I found a near-mint copy of Radiant Silvergun a couple of years ago there for $90
.
A lot of their imports/"rarities" are horribly overpriced, though. I won't even tell you what they wanted for the US version of Panzer Dragoon Saga a couple of months ago

Well, I have a lot of reasons for not liking Gamefellas, not the least of which their crazy pricing. Since when did a copy of Bloody Roar 3 import cost $70 after the US version of it had been out for over a year?
I really, REALLY miss Game World. The EB buyout wasn't too pleasing, but it got me more interested in internet purchases, which is actually a bit better in the long run. I can't wait for Mushihime.

Just saying that in reference to hika...'s post. Component is very much != RGB. Whatever works for ya is best...I kinda prefer component for ps2 since it allows use of my tv rather than the commodore monitor.MadSteelDarkness wrote:Hmmm. The plot thickens.
I still intend to go the full RGB route at some point. However, component signals work well enough for me at the moment.
Scart is just the europe standard for RGB (and I believe all a/v cables, could some euro. denizen currect me on thisOkay, so I know of S-video, RGB and the RF cables... But where do Scart cables come in to all this?

VGA is better for Dreamcast games, i.e., 3d or Guilty Gear X. Most 2d is lowres so RGB is preferable for 2d. But 3d looks good in VGA. Dreamcast, and Gamecube with some hacking are I believe the only consoles that can output VGA. Probably the Xbox as well.

That in a nutshell is the biggest problem with Gamefellas. Their unwillingness to lower prices that the market won't bear anymore (and probably wouldn't bear in the first place). I found a copy of Rockman 2 for the PSX there for $70. I referred them to play-asia's site, where they were selling the same game (in rerelease form, granted) for around $22. This was also after the $40 Mega Man Anniversary Collection had come out, to boot. Their response was, "Yeah, but we paid a lot for that game a couple of years ago, and we wouldn't want to take a loss on it."hikarutilmitt wrote:Well, I have a lot of reasons for not liking Gamefellas, not the least of which their crazy pricing. Anywho, yup, the intarweb is the way to go for imports. Oyyy, my aching wallet...
