Hori Real Arcade Pro EX for 360
Hori Real Arcade Pro EX for 360
Hori has just announced a 360 version of the HRAP!
HoriStore:
http://www.hori.jp/products/xbox360/con ... rc_pro_ex/
It is available on Play-Asia and Akihabarashop for Pre-order.
Buttons are HORI and will need to be swapped with SANWAs as usual.
Has anybody heard of the JLF-TM-8T-SK-K stick before?

But PLEASE... Put some "Real Arcade" push buttons in there. These Hori buttons s... a... At least OBSF30, better RGs...
EDIT: Ok, darn...
EDITEDIT: The JLF-TM8 is not in the actual Sanwa catalogue... Think it's a new development between the JFL am TM8 series. But that one has such a loooooong name.

shmup-systems: jap. Jasper 360 with a custom DC/360 fully Seimitsu modded Arcadestick, PAL Matrix Infinity modded PStwo with a Sanwa(RG)/Seimitsu modded HRAP2! (^_^)
It's a JLF stick with seperate micro connections (TM), flat plate (T), shaft cover (SK), and black balltop (K).CC_Devil wrote:

Sanwa discontinued this one a couple years ago, perhaps Hori got a sweet deal on their leftover stock.
It feels identical to the standard JLF-TP.
I might be the only one that thinks so, but that is frickin awesome. Screw the shaft cover but, otherwise, cool.oxtsu wrote:It's a JLF stick with seperate micro connections (TM), flat plate (T), shaft cover (SK), and black balltop (K).
Either that, or it's because the stick is going to use a crappy non-common-ground pcb, which wouldn't work with a normal jlf.oxtsu wrote:Sanwa discontinued this one a couple years ago, perhaps Hori got a sweet deal on their leftover stock.

Would you like some lubricant with that?

Damn, that's fricking expensive for an 360 RAP-EX stick: $218.90 USD from National Console Support Inc. and the intial pre-order batch is sold out anyways...this 360 RAP stick costs more than a PS3 RAP-3 btw.
Or you could go with Seimitsu buttons instead of Sanwa buttons, which ever you prefer -- can't go wrong with either selection of Japanese arcade spec push buttons... ^_~

you can, I think, definitely if it is a ps2 controller, you could use a ps2 to neo adapter... If its PS3 im not sure (i think its all ps2 to ps3 adapters..)spadgy wrote:looks like I'll need a new stick, and this will be the one unless I can get my modded VSHG running through a 360...
But for modding a 360 controller, the easiest pads to mod (common ground) that I've heard of is the madcatz classic joystick (looks like a crap atari joystick) and gamestop's branded controller, its the one with weird pointy handles and lightweight cheap plastic.
I went the gamestop route and used ribbon cable to make a neo-geo style db-15 connector that cleanly hangs out from the little gap on the headset socket (headset socket still works).. the controller itself is used for any buttons not on the stick (like the xbox dashboard button).
Highly recommended if you already have a nice stick and want to use it..
It's actually a PS3 stick, so USB, and apparently it might work with a 360 - I just haven't had a game to warrant trying it with yet... I'll give it a spin tonight...kemical wrote:you can, I thinkspadgy wrote:looks like I'll need a new stick, and this will be the one unless I can get my modded VSHG running through a 360...

Try factoring in the total cost, including shipping from Play-Asia. Assuming that their price is the same as the price listed at NCSX, and assuming that the shipping cost will be the same of the PS3's HRAP3: $218.90 + 50. Jesus christ, that's a quarter/half of your next Cave PCB.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:Might as well bite the bullet and get one however much it costs... ^_~
I don't think it's worth it for that price.. but then again Play-Asia isn't NCSX, and they probably have ways of getting them for (maybe) cheaper, since they're in Hong Kong.

If you want the best that $$$ can buy, then you will pay whatever it costs + further upgrading the stock Hori push buttons to either Sanwa or Seimitsu push buttons. Console gaming ain't a cheap hobby these days and if you want a decent Japanese arcade stick for your favorite console, plan to fork out even more for the opportunity to do so. Think of it as a one-time intial purchase...you can always resell and get most of your intial investment back if it isn't what you thought it was going be... ^_~Elixir wrote:Try factoring in the total cost, including shipping from Play-Asia. it won't work on 360 unfortunately. there has to be a dedicated 360 pcb installed because of microsofts security protection. only officially licensed peripherals can be used on the 360. it is possible however to add a 360 pcb to your stick and have it operate on both the the ps3 and the 360.spadgy wrote:It's actually a PS3 stick, so USB, and apparently it might work with a 360 - I just haven't had a game to warrant trying it with yet... You can still buy better arcade sticks for cheaper. "If you want the best that $$$ can buy, you'll pay whatever it costs" is the most hilarious thing I've ever heard of. There certainly isn't enough on the 360 to warrant a purchase of this stick at that price just yet. Maybe later this year though.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:If you want the best that $$$ can buy, then you will pay whatever it costs + further upgrading the stock Hori push buttons to either Sanwa or Seimitsu push buttons. gotcha. the srk guys cry about the lag that the xfps produces. have you noticed any problems in that area?Elixir wrote:You need an XFPS, a Saturn PS2 pad, and a wired 360 controller. Since the XFPS takes PS2 pads, it'll also take that one (same with HRAPs and anything with PS2 plugs).
The downside is that you can't configure the button layout.
Uhh no, I haven't noticed any lag.. I know I did 1cc Triggerheart with it.
But this stick wasn't available then. You're looking at $90 for the XFPS + $30 for a wired 360 controller and however much Saturn PS2 pads eBay for these days. If this was available back when Raiden Fighters Aces was released, I probably wouldn't have this current method of play.
It's really just your choice.

What a wacky and complex setup you got there, Elixir...a dedicated 360 arcade stick would simply things a lot easier, don't you think? If you're happy with your current setup, then so be it. ^_~Elixir wrote:Uhh no, I haven't noticed any lag.. I know I did 1cc Triggerheart with it.
