Happy B'Day to my fav. console ever. Maybe I should buy 10 Saturn games out of respect.

You must be talking about the US Rev 2 Saturn. the US Rev 1 saturn was oh-so-sexy.. i can't stand those huge ass round buttons on the Rev 2captain ahar wrote:great even though i replaced my american system with a sexier japanese model.
I wouldn't recommend a US rev 1 Saturn (with the non-round buttons on the console). The first generation lasers had a very high failure rate - and were replaced with better lasers in the US 2nd edition. Much like the 2nd edition US Saturn pads (roughly equivilent to the amazing Japanese Saturn pads), the 2nd edition US console is the one to seek out (assuming you want a US console... though changing it to a Japanese console is trivial: a converter cart works great as does a simple cut and jumper on the main board).roushimsx wrote:You must be talking about the US Rev 2 Saturn. the US Rev 1 saturn was oh-so-sexy.. i can't stand those huge ass round buttons on the Rev 2
I never knew about those problems with the lasers, but I guess any info on them at the time was drowned out by the Playstation's hardware problems. As much as I liked the layout of the japanese saturn pads, I never much cared for the color. Thank god those US Rev2 Saturn Pads came out...llabnip wrote:I wouldn't recommend a US rev 1 Saturn (with the non-round buttons on the console). I've heard that Burning Rangers is great, but I've also heard that it's best played with the Saturn 3D controller. Anyway, it was done by Sonic Team, so it couldn't be that bad.Dylan1CC wrote:Excellent, one of my fave consoles by far. Glad it's massive staple of Jap shooters, excellent titles and fan following have outlived its past. I have been playing a lot of Batsugun the past month, after I finally 1CC it I am gonna borrow Panzer Dragoon from a friend again. Is Burning Rangers worth owning? I hear it's good but very short.
