Not true. It is definitely in Strikers 1999 - a perfect game is 200.
wrong it's 201 because there are 101 medals per loop and the first one doesn't count to your chain. Then add X because the last boss on the second loop spews rings of medals. The maximum would be arond 220 i guess.

Oh yah - forgot about the last guy. Heh, I never see him so I easily forget him.

I wonder how many times you can within the technical bonus time and before the it self-destructs?

You can't get a TB on the last boss and you get 5 rings of medals before he self destructs.

Plasmo - 1.391.900 - X-36 - 2-3

Got to the loop with 2 lives left and died right before the 2-3 boss. The second loop is quite a good challenge!

Yeah, but very good progress.

Have you fought the tank boss on the loop yet?

Yes i have....what a bastard. Even his first form is incredibly adrenaline pumping hard.
I really can't do any of the loop bosses yet. Did you use save states to practice the loop?

No, I did not use save states. It was just playing and playing and playing. When I was playing this game regularly, I was pretty consistent at the loop versions of the water and air bosses. The train boss was a crap shoot if I could keep him controlled during the "train phase." The tank boss? That fekker always gives me problems. I just can't get his 2nd-half pattern down even though I've seen several videos of how to do it. I'm better off just unloading the special shots into him and trying to destroy him instead of the T.B.

Plasmo - 1.474.500 - X-36 - 2-3

Lost my first life with 7 bombs in stock on the last boss...followed by quite an okish loop performance. Died on the 2-3 boss. Didn't encounter the tank boss of course (cause that destroys all hope for a new highscore)

I keep dying with 9 bombs in stock on the last boss. Why is that omg!
Also I can finally no bomb the 1-5 boss pretty consistently, but I still need 3-4 bombs for the 1-6 one. Any tips other than "watch the replay / dodge the bullets" ?

Nice job Plasmo. You are so close to the hard part of the game =)
So very true. After you beat the first loop every 50k more is probably as hard as everything before.

Sometimes I can dodge the 1-5 boss quick-spray of the 2nd form and sometimes I can't. It depends on the day for me and how much concentration I have because it's so quick.

1-6 is just a matter of being able to quickly kill the bottom satellite. What part are you having problems with? During the 1st phase, most people seem to take the route of sweeping back and forth to avoid the big aimed shots. I prefer to rush up to the middle of the boss and then move down as he shoots. You have to be able to do this 3 to 4 times in order to kill him on the right side of the screen. This will allow him to split at the right and then you'll have enough time to destroy the bottom satellite before they reverse direction and mess the pattern up. Sometimes I'll screw up the entire thing and end up bombing a few times (as in the video - I was impatient and tried to kill him after 2 passes instead of 4).

This was exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot, I'll try it out later.

Your 1-6 boss strat works and I did something I'm kinda proud of: No Miss/No Bomb first loop! :)
But then again I guess this is pretty basic stuff, if you want to attack the loop stages...

Not at all! Nice job! I have never no-bomb no-missed the 1st loop. My best has been 2 bombs. I *always* have to bomb during the the wasp-form of the last guy when it does the mass quick-spray. I just can't dodge it at full rank. Especially with the mame-error that is displayed across the bottom =)

I didn't post a score the last month but I was playing NONSTOP and am now very happy to have this goal achieved. Thanks for giving me this great challenge Landshark! This was my first time in 2-5 too.
First loop was no miss/no bomb (1.18x.xxx) and I got all TB's in 2-1 to 2-4 except for the tank boss of course.

Plasmo - 1,757,800 - X-36 - 2-5

Nice job Plasmo!!! Damn, knocked off my perch =) Don't know if I'll be getting back up on it. I haven't touched a shmup in quite some time (cept ikaruga on the 360).

Finally got all tech-bonuses, rest of the round was pretty lousy. Will keep at it though, I really like the game (first loop at least).

Did the same as me huh? I'm actually glad that this didn't make the tourny, as though I have the 1999 PCB and was looking forward to playing a game in STGT08 on a big screen, 1999 is a game I want to stick with and persist at and hopefully climb up the table as I did with Progear, so I'm glad this score board isn't about to get flushed with 152 results!

Slight improvement. I don't think this bumps me up in the charts, any. Died at the last minute, trying to get the tech bonus on the boss of stage 7. Had I not messed up, I think I would have broken 1,000,000. Well, there's always next time.

Top ten! 'Sup?

Died on the last form of the last boss. I was so close to the first loop clear. I'll get it soon, I'm sure.

Pity RF Emporium's gone...
There's Millennium Crisis, I guess.

Anyway, what's with those end of game play ranks (A Level Fighter, Medal Master, etc)?

You are given a rank based on the maximum amount of medals you successfully chained together in the run.
