1. Mushi Futari 1.5
2. Dodonpachi DOJ
3. Progear

I have a suspicion this list might change when I get my hands on a Daifukatsu kit

My favorite is of course Mushihime-sama.

Probably would be Futari, if I had access to the dang thing.

Mushi is one of the games that got me sucked into this entire genre.....

I'm also very fond of Progear and Galuda.

Progear's scoring system is buckets of fun.... something I cant say about Mushi.

Tricky question. My /favourite/ is probably still Mushihimesama, but I think Espgaluda II is the best.

For the sake of originality, I'll go with Mushihimesama/DDP ex aequo.

I've only played the MAME-able ones, but my favorite is Esprade because it was my introduction into the whole modern shmup market. After googling around about I came across The Cave of Shooting site and eventually wound up here in order to be ridiculed about my game design ideas. Ah, the memories.

Anyway, a top 5 would therefore look like:

1.) Esprade
2.) DDP
3.) Dangun Feveron
4.) Guwange
5.) Progear

Oh. Uhh... okay, Futari or Ketsui would go fourth place but I haven't played them

If my friend doesn't pull through with making me a supergun I'll probably never get to play Futari, but I'm looking forward to the Ketsui for 360.

Mushihimesama and DonPachi.

If I had access to Muchi Muchi Pork, it would be among my top choices.

Progear without doubt.

The gameplay, the style, the scoring, the music, the little people diving off the bridge to their deaths at the start...

I just hate the way there's no way of explaining the scoring or why you like the scoring without penning some ludicrously drawn out and overly complex sentence. It took me ages to translate what people were on about when I first started to read threads on how the scoring works...

I think it was Kaede though, that told me Cave deemed Progear 'a failed experiment'.

I've always wondered why people seem to like the music in Progear. To me it sounds like a gorilla that's been handed a violin...

Most of my musical tastes sound like a gorilla has been handed the relevant instruments for the genre!
