I thought you wanted expert opinions. You keep buying all of the broken ports and mediocre games. Not that you shouldn't enjoy them, but seriously.

Dude, I'm stuck with US releases. That's awesome that you guys know all these imports, but it does me no good. I can't spend $100 bucks modifying a system, then spend another $60-$70 on importing a game. I'm on a budget, brutha!

Those two games cost me $15(Raiden III) and $10 bucks(Srikers 1945). I can deal with that.

A swap magic set would only have cost you $1.95 more . . .

. . . which he could make up by not buying the crappy games he's been buying.

If he's averaging $10 per crappy game, he could already have bought used copies of DDPDOJ or Espgaluda, either one of which are better than all of those games put together . . .

To each her own, I suppose.

Darius Gaiden PC

and TETSUOOO GEIDEN for CD-i

surely to delight nearly as much as Phalanx for GBA...wtf?

I'm serious about the DG for PC, that's a good one. Of course, you could just MAME it since it's PC anyway....and on that matter, aren't Raiden III / IV available for PC as well?

Yeah, I'm saying that you're buying the worst of domestically released games instead of the games people suggested.

Don't buy D-Force. I mean do! Whatever makes you avoid it. For SNES.

Seriously, I'd go with Phalanx SNES before the GBA port (and I need do neither 'cuz I gots the x68000 ver.)

Sorry, I'm buying "crap". I've been enjoying everything I've been playing (except Sol Divide, it blows).

The games are fun. Fun? Anybody remember fun? Before you guys became sophisticated importers and collectors?

black flag nc:

what Rob is saying is that the other US NTSC (as in NOT imported) games that people suggested are of better quality and arguably more fun than the ones you bought....not that the ones you got are total garbage.

Make sure you try Raiden III double mode. It may seem too hard initially, but it's the best way to play the game, believe me.

People who says Raiden III is crap surely haven't played it on double mode. It's like the game was designed around this mode.

Oh man, that double mode rocks. You're right, it takes some getting used to but that's an awesome way to play a shmup.

Update: Have Thunderforce V coming off ebay and on my payday, I'm gonna snag Gradius V. See, I am listening to you good folks!

I own less shooters than you've bought since this thread started. I just don't understand asking for advice and then going out to buy MLF and Sol Divide. Wasting people's time.

Yeah, I remember fun. Espgaluda is more FUN than the games you've gotten so far.

Good job snagging Gradius V though, probably the most FUN u.s. ps2 shmup.

Don't get me wrong guys, I appreciate the help. It just may take me a while to get to some of the more expensive ones, like R-type Delta. My gaming budget isn't what it used to be, dude.

Plus it's only been a few weeks since I started this topic, so as time goes by I'll be buying as much as cashflow allows. Thanks again. :D
