The company doing the ports, 5pb, is small and they might be listening to a relatively decent size demographic like US shmups fans. I don't know really, just throwing it out there. Also do we know the status on the Raiden Fighers collection for 360, I think it could possibly be region-free.

Well, it can't hurt.
The brutal truth is that if these are actually individual retail releases there is probably only a sliver of a chance they'll come out here, due to the market differences. I'd probably say a better effort would be to petition a couple of US niche publishers on trying to pull these over for a US release with either both on one disc or as a two disc set. But c'mon, these game can't possibly break the 150MB XBLA limit to begin with.
Was Castle Shikigami III only announced for the Wii in the US? We could probe them about the Cave games.

Try posting requests here:
http://aksysgames.com/forum/index.php?board=7.0
It's Shikigami III's US publisher's "Request Forum."
The busiest thread there only has 26 posts. I think we can certainly multiply that by a few times.

I started a thread on the Aksys forums, registration is very easy and doesn't require an eMail verification so please take a few minutes to show your support for these games if you're really interested in them. $30 or $40 for one or both is a hell of a lot better than $60 or $70 a piece PLUS the cost of a Japanese Xbox 360.

360 owners aren't going to want Ketsui or DDP. They aren't liking Triggerheart very much because of how "short" it is. If these games do get ported they have little likelihood of coming to the US and let's face it, there aren't that many shmup players like us in the US. Not enough to justify the money to port the games. A region-free disc version that releases in Japan might be the best bet for them, but even so, the audience they're going for is CLEARLY in Japan mainly. Why would they even want to release on the 360 over there? It's doing pretty badly. If they're smart they'll release Cave ports on the PS3 or the Wii.

Definitely, I can't access their site at work or I'd start another thread. Feel free to copy and paste the one I made at Aksys if you want to.Milkgoat wrote:Maybe we should try Atlus as well?
If they were XBLA releases, that would be correct. All signs thus far point to a retail release though, so we have to do what we can to show publishers that we want them out here.Django! wrote:They're going to be Xbox Live releases, right? If that's the case, all you'll need is a silver Live account to download, right?

Yeah... and of course every single 360 owner is like that.kengou wrote:360 owners aren't going to want Ketsui or DDP. They aren't liking Triggerheart very much because of how "short" it is.
Just because some people complain on the internet doesnt mean there aren't some thousands or so of people who don't post in forums and actually liked it.

Triggerheart came out last week, and it's #2 among a bunch of older games that have come out before this week. Really doesn't prove much. I bet every new game that comes out every week will be pretty high on the sales charts for that given week. Let's see how THE sits in a couple weeks from now.jp wrote:O rly?kengou wrote:360 owners aren't going to want Ketsui or DDP. They aren't liking Triggerheart very much because of how "short" it is. But you have to admit my first posts have been pretty much in line with the overall shmups forum, only I whine from the other side.
One easy thing would be to post some emails to the companies involved in this, then we just send nice drawings where people of all colors are sitting under a rainbow happily playing ketsui together.

If they turned out to be XBLA titles, they'd be released in the US, period. I think the only XBLA title not to have worldwide distribution is Tetris Splash because of some strange European lessening issues. On top of that, XBLA games are released everywhere on the same day.Enhasa wrote:Yes. In fact, if they turn out to be XBLA (I'm doubting this though), and you have an American 360, you can even get the games, but it requires effort. Where's the shifty eyed emoticon?

Come on!
I have two things to note though. First of all, Aksys is an American publisher. They aren't going to be able to help with a PAL release, I'm sorry. Secondly a few people are posting about making the game(s) region-free. For those that are suggesting this for the Japanese version, Aksys can't do anything about that. They are neither developing or publishing the game(s) in Japan. BUT.. as has been pointed out in the bigger Cave 360 thread, most American 360 games are region free. So if you want to show some PAL love simply let them know that if they do consider bringing them out in the US to make sure that THEIR version is region free as they'll get some sales from our European friends.

Good point, you're right. I was thinking about demos and DLC for some reason.Leroy wrote:If they turned out to be XBLA titles, they'd be released in the US, period. My guess is the lockout code was the first thing to be coded onto the HDD of the devkit.
Cave shooters would be popular with the west if the price point was like $10, because the West see's 3D as value for $50+, not 2D sprites. If the disc was region free, it would definitely grow the audience and I think thats more important than catering for our needs.
As far as publishers go, i'd say at least 15 publishers have looked at Cave's catalogue of games so far and nobody is interested. The best news for a release in the USA/UK is that Cave are not involved, because well... They are greedy pigs tbh.
I could see the amazon reviews go something like "$50 for a genesis game, its crap".

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
