Fanbot's very busy with work and stuff at the moment, and is sorry he can't join in the festivities now, but it looks like people have it covered regardless.

PS: Enemy chaining makes my face turn beet-red.
I knew that would awaken you :D

Battle Garegga RULES!

So the game should get easier the longer you dont die? WTF?

I wouldnt play or buy that game.

Dodonpachi gets harder the longer you don't die. However, it never gets impossible if you never die. This is what I hate about Garegga. That and the tie-in with survival and score. If they changed the extend/rank system, I would readily agree that Garegga is far superior, however, that isn't the case.

More like what makes it worthless. :P Who is more likely to get duped, Raizing fanboys or DDP fanboys?

I got trapped as well. Personally Medal Chains > Enemy Chains, because i prefer dynamic/random processes to static/predictable ones.

You can play it in many different ways (or freestyle).

DoDonPachi, well you can only play it in one style.

hehe ^ didn't read the poll and the OP, double duped? :D

voted for raizing medal chains.
and yes i did read the poll cause i also love crazy rank control, suiciding and complex scoring systems with many secrets.
on another note i just chained the WHOLE of doj stage 5 (including the big enemies at the end) for the first time and even got the last bee lolz. 2740chain.
So yeah ddp chaining isnt too bad i guess.

Raizing > ddp
There are many ways to play a raizing type game. Not true for ddp mechanics. You can miss a medal or make an error and your run "may be" not fucked in garegga, even if you won't be #1 in the score board.

I like medal chaining better than Dodonpachi's combo system. Both can get really frustrating, but I just find medalling a little more varied.

Also, it is a common misconception that you need to score high in Battle Garegga in order to survive. KET posted two Garegga replays on YouTube, where he clears the game without doing any scoring tricks and without suiciding, and I found that I usually travel the same distance (survival wise) when I don't score at all than when I'm scoring.

Thats actually totally wrong.
You rather have to kill yourself as hell to gain some points

It is definitely not impossible, only very very hard. Which is good if what you are looking for is challenge. It is true that Dodonpachi may seem unfair as it robs you of dozens of millions of points if you die once or bomb at the wrong place, and there are good reasons to dislike it, however there also is some good about it as it makes it a game that encourages the player to become as perfect as possible.

Wrong again. You don't get any points from killing yourself.
If you say that you're getting bombs from suiciding (and getting a higher score with using these bombs in certain spots) then its equally correct to say that you have to score and get more lives (which you can waste in order to get bombs in order to get a higher score)

I voted Raizing because I dislike boss milking. I dig both systems fine but some of the quirks of medaling systems irritate me much more than level chaining.

Bakraids rank gets pretty fucking crazy when you carry lives. Pull off a good score on Axebeak, and get clobbered by rank by middle of the second stage if you're not smart.
Feedback will set you free.
