Guwange/Esprade & Muchi Muchi Pork tracklistings

Post by rtw »

I just received these two excellent soundtracks but since my
knowledge of the Japanese language is somewhat limited I
was wondering if some kind soul could be so kind to translate
the track names. :D

I have scanned both track listings here:

Looks fine to me. Most of the tracks on the Guwange OST aren't very common words though, so whatever he got out of the dictionary is about the best you'll get out of a white Japanese speaker.

Yeah.
The difficult part of course is that single characters can convey loads of meanings. Super-difficult to translate into something sensible in English! 'Butsu' I'm particularly unhappy with.

I did consult a native wrt 標/hyou and 印/shirushi,in). I wasn't getting anywhere with the usual sources (yeah, yeah, so it's "mark/seal/print/etc." but what's the difference?)
They weren't really sure themselves - it seemed to be something to do with the size of the mark. Eg. Traffic sign (標識) but Seal (印鑑). As they put it:

I had a quick look at the MMP one, but a number of the onomatopaeias have me baffled! (ie. I don't know them, and dictionary searches are coming up blank). If I have chance, I'll get in touch with a native.

Problem words:

yukeyuke
ureure
garegare
izaiza
rurerure
pumopumo
mochimochi
munimuni

I've been wondering if some of these are punning or contractions on food-related vocabulary - track 7 could be 'hamham pepper', and 'mochimochi' leaps out as potentially food-based. Regardless, I've no idea what they might mean.

The yukuyuke seems like 行け行け, which makes sense considering the the katakana.

ureure looks more like unun, garegare looks more like gangan.... I think you've confused most of the nns with res.

iza, from the wwwjdic:
いざ (adv, int) now; come (now); well; crucial moment
I think of "iza, jinjyou ni" or the like from the samurai spirits games, at the start of each match - I'm not sure what the actual meaning is, but you can get the sense of it.

Doh! You're absolutely right. That's what happens when I don't get any sleep.

Or maybe it's just time for me to get some specs? :)

Excellent work toki :D

Now can someone tell who is the real composer of ESP Ra.De. ?

Various places have listed Hiroi Kusuga as the composer
but the Guwange OST states that the composer for Guwange &
ESP Ra.De. is Masahiro Kusunoki

According to the games' staff lists (and now the OST release), Masahiro Kusunoki composed both works.

I suck at those things too. I bought a book on them and have it somewhere. I will see if it's of any use.

Ok, it's kind of rough, and there are parts that need clarification. To save typing, "MMP" is "muchi muchi po-ku".

mucchicchi muchii muchi! (a, doshita!)
mucchicchi muchii muchi! (wassyoi!)
mucchicchi muchii muchi! (a, yoisyo!)
mucchicchi muchii muchi!!

(These don't really mean anything...)

tabete sugu ireru to ushi ni naru
Eat too much and you'll become a cow
so-yu- meishin arukeredo
There's a superstition like that
tabete netara
If you eat then sleep
buta ni natta!
Became a pig!
(hanashi, chiga ushi!)
(story is wrong!)

[buta mo odaterya ki ni noboru]
Flatter a pig, it will climb a tree
so-yu-kotoba ga aru keredo
There's a tale like that
homerarete ki ni nobottara
Be praised, climbed a tree
ki ga oreta!
The tree fell!
(yabaai...)
(bad...)
The tenses are confusing me for this verse, I'm not exactly sure what's going on.

tabetai mono wo tabetai dake
If you just eat what you want
taberu koto ha...
Eating is...
tsumi! desuka!?
A sin! Is it?
giruti! (guilty) desuka!?
Guilty? ?

*chorus 1
muchimuchipo-ku muchimuchipo-ku
MMP ironna imi de!

by various meanings
MMP MMP
MMP muchimuchi shitemasu!

muchimuchi-ing! err... what?
MMP MMP
MMP syare ne naranai!

It's not a joke!
MMP MMP
MMP zonjiteorimasu!

I realize!

buta mimi totte mo kyu-to da ne
Pig ears are really cute, right?
to iwareru yume mita MMP
I had a dream like that
(first 4 lines repeated)
This translates more like I had a dream where it was said, "Pig ears are really cute, right?

manga wo yomitsutsu okashi wo taberu
Reading manga, eating snacks
mainichi shiawase dori-mutaimu
Everyday, happiness, dreamtime
ima ga yokereba, cho-okke
If now is ok -> OK~
demo, yappa buta ni natta!
But, in the end I became a pig!
(damedamee~)
(no no~)

suki na mono wo suki na toki ni
Things you like, when you like
taberu koto ha...
Eating... (Eating what you like, when you like)
sachi! desu!!
Happiness!
happi! nandesu !!
Happy!

*chorus 2
MMP MMP
MMP ironna imi de
MMP MMP
MMP kotoba ni naranai!

Can't be expressed in words!
MMP MMP
MMP itsudemo dokodemo

Any time, anywhere
MMP MMP
MMP komawari kikanai!

I can't do a tight turn (i.e. I can't do a tight turn)

[mucchiri bodii ga tamaranai]
A plump body is irresistible
to iwareru yume mita MMP
I had a dream like that

debu dakedo busu jyanai
fat, but still not unrefined
watashi wa hayari no me-ta-bo ...kei
I'm ??? fashionable me-ta-bo system? There's a missing verb here, I'm not sure what it should be
kachi gumi no aikotoba sou
The winning team's password huh?
MMP muchi po-kyu

*repeat chorus 1
*repeat chorus 2

kettamasi-n de shitsugeki da!
Launch with kettamasi-n
kore ga genjyutsu MMP
This is reality (crying)
(First four lines again)

--
Now you can sing along and go crazy too! Hare hare's got nothing on this! (someone link that cave matsuri video with the guy dancing for me)

If you eat then sleep
Became a pig!
I am reminded that it is "if you lay down after you eat, you'll turn into a cow". 1 guess where I hear that from a few times a week.

Thanks! :D

It's not a touch on IBALOVE★SONG but it's still delightfully cheesy

I think Natsuko Naito is my favorite musician at Cave these days
