Scarlet Devil... Famicom style...

Post by Super Laydock »

Pretty popular game all around, but it getting a port to famicom style graphs is something I didn´t see coming... (thanks to isc mentioning this)

Id love a famicom ddp doj or gunbird....

Yes! This looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the news!

It's such a shame danmaku can't be done on an actual 8 bit computer, due to the colision detection issues that would invariably arise, not to mention the number of sprites on screen rendering it unplayable, but this still looks awesome.

Also, I would be in heaven if the music was actually in NSF format :D

That's more of a design flaw, isn't it?

Just joking.
It is powerup of laser.

Anyone know how to run it fullscreen, or make the button assignments slightly less stupid, or make it not reset my refresh rate to 60Hz when it exits?

As far as I can remember about this Famicom arrangement...

Super Laydock, I definitely have to agree with you there... this new game is such a truly smolderingly awesome Famicom arrangement of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil indeed, and even though I have NEVER played a Touhou-based shmup before in my life, I actually enjoyed the living hell out of this amazing little demo indeed!!! No lie about that. d=:D=b

In fact, you can see the game in action on YouTube right here:

I cannot wait for this to be blossomed into a full game... I mean, listen, with such amazing playability and phenomenal NES-based music, imagine the sheer possibilities!! A complete Famicom arrangement of Guwange on the PC, perhaps? I don’t know, we will just have to see. ;)

Lol, this is so going on my DS flashcard once the full version is released. I hope it still runs with Lunatic mode though.

Just got round to playing it now my exams are finally over...

The music is amazing! IN fact it's pretty amazing all round.

Shion, you say this is going on your DS flashcard; what format is the final build going to be? I can't read Japanese, so I realy have no clue :?:

There's a lot less bullets in this than in the game it emulates isn't it? They seem to move a lot faster too.

I was guessing it was in a NES rom format, but I'm wrong. If they do make a rom out of it, I have a program to covert NES roms to DS format.

And I could play it on my GBA... Awesomeness! Still, won't get my hopes up. It seems pretty unfeasable to get something this tight running as a nes rom.

I'd get a nes repro cart of the game if a rom was released, but sadly, that just can't happen as the game is now.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Heh. I actually like this Famicom version better since I still get a spellcard bonus even after using my master spark.

Hopefully the rest of the game also weeds out many of ZUN's crazy tomfoolery.
