WOOF WOOF! BARK BARK ARF!
Sorry.
What a bunch of "home growns"...FPS's are cool for some of us.
Think Smash TV in 3D!
I know, I know...but some of you need to realize. Video games are video games.
Yea, I played stuff like Defender, Asteroids,Berserk, etc even before I had an Atari VCS/2600, but yet, nobody ever made fun of me for playing something different, like Indiana Jones, or ET.

A touch harsh. I think your mistake was in expecting the finished product to come anywhere close to the quality or DE 1 or 2. Yeah, it's dumb, but it's a lot of fun if you approach it as any other FPS and forget the Deus Ex connection.I picked up Project Snowblind thinking it would be like Deus Ex 1 & 2. (Project Snowblind started out being a spinoff called Deus Ex: Clan Wars). Turns out while this game looks semi-impressive, it has no challenge and no replay value. It's extremely short, mindless, linear, and has no difficulty levels at all. And while it tries to go for the Deus Ex art style it fails to be one tenth of the quality game of Deus Ex 1 & 2. Project Snowblind = Rental.

Probably true. But they are pretty much asking for comparisons to be made when they rip certain art and ideas straight from DE, and even hire one of the prominent voice actors from DE to reprise a similar role.Marc wrote:I think your mistake was in expecting the finished product to come anywhere close to the quality or DE 1 or 2.
That's just an urban legend...Shatterhand wrote:I just find funny no one rememberes the "FPShite" stuff

Oh yea...I remember that "FPShite" all to well.
Its really all up to you what you like or dislike, but some peope simply have an aversion towards anything "modern". Which is evident here at this site.

Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior is pretty nice.
Red Faction 1 [2 sucked]
Killzone is pretty but controls ugly
Timesplitters is an aquired taste...I haven't acquired it
Medal Of Honor supposed to be good [military themed FPS's bore the hell outta' me, so not for everyone]
I would say screw all of em' and get Neo Contra.

What attracts me most about Kill.Switch is that I've heard that it plays a lot like a 3rd person Time Crisis.TWITCHDOCTOR wrote:Like the others have alreay said, but include this one as well...
its a 3rd person(view from behind)
KillSwitch by Namco. I own the Xbox version, but I'm sure its still quite good on the PS2.
Even the first TimeSplitters is good...should be able to find it cheap too!
What's held me back from Freedom Fighters is that it's squad based-but I have heard that your squad is easy to control.
Has anyone played Project Snowblind??

haha this is funny, because i didn't even have to rent it to play it. my brother rented it. lucky me. anyway still fun for what it is.Thunder Force wrote:I picked up Project Snowblind thinking it would be like Deus Ex 1 & 2. freedom fighters was fun. completely forgot about that one. the squad mechanics are easy to use (but not completely satisfying either, they seemed a bit "too easy" if you understand).
and i am sorry to ask again dave, but... Have you been reading the thread?

I have no sig whatsoever.

Kill Switch does kinda remind me of Time Crisis in a way. Not so much in game play, but in "arcade feel". Consider Kill.Switch to be the "Special Ops type game that plays like an arcade game". It also features PERFECT play control...(provided you are used to common FPS style control)
