Converting PS2 PAL games to NTSC?

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I mainly play backups of my games, to keep the originals in good shape. I have been able to convert PS2 CDs into DVDs recently, thanks to some advice on forums. Through these forums I have learned that you can convert most PAL games into NTSC. This would be very handy for games that I just can't seem to find the NTSC versions of. I could just make a few adjustments and back it up as a NTSC game.

Has anyone done this with some PAL games, and has it worked? Any glitches, such as flicker, frame skips, or sound errors?

Ps2 Y fix, its a small prog that will convert your image and you can set the offset. If you have a Matrix or Dms4Pro it has it built into the OS of the chip.

Oh really? I have Matrix(infinity, I think it's called). You mean that will play PAL games properly?

Just stick to NTSC where you can! I can't imagine a PAL game getting close to NTSC standards. PAL games don't hold value at all so copying them and putting them in a vault isn't going to get you rich anytime soon.

I just don't see the point of this exercise at all.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Yes i believe you hold O and triangle upon bootup, go to color mode and set to NTSC and set Y position to auto (most games) if not try the offsets. Also last FW for Matrix Infinity is 1.93, so update it if you have to
