It's more annoying to me since it's usually also competing with whatever music I have running at the time. If there's anything worse than a website midi, it's a website midi playing blended with a CD.

Sorry, that particular page builder doesn't give you a choice, if you don't choose music, it does it for you. The only thing you can do is to download your own tunes...which cost money. I'm too cheap. However, it does have a stop/play/pause music button at the very bottom (Firefox Browser)...u can simply turn it off.

EDIT: Someone just told me a way to turn off the music (with HTML), so its a done deal...all except the main page which I paid for ("Blue water, blue sky" - Guilty Gear Soundtrack).

I absolutely adore shmups.

This is my first post here. Hello, gentlemen.

It's true, I don't really know any other females that like shmups, or even know what they are, for that matter. Hell, I don't even know many PEOPLE in general that play these games. But there's something about the twitch reflexes and the pure focus that's needed to get through these games that intrigues me to no end.

Oddly enough, my favorite genre of games is actually RPGs, and I love old-school adventure, action/adventure, platformer, strategy, etc. as well. So I guess I'm the odd duck out.

Just today I played DoDonPachi and Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. I'm not that great at them, I've never 1CC'ed anything. I only got into shmups in the last year or so, but they've slowly become this creeping obsession. It might be the pick-up-and-playness of them.

Anyway, yeah. there are girls that play shmups, because I am one.

The best shmuppers in the world definitely have issues though, too much of anything is a bad thing. Well except money.

Nah, it's just a bit of joking around. I've always thought of this place as being particularly welcoming, but as with any enthusiast site you get a lot of big characters flying around. As with anything else on the internet, just take it with a grain of salt. Of course, since the only way to interact with the userbase of a forum is to post your own opinions, thus i'm sure the more you post, the more you'll come to like it here. You hit the nail on the head with your last statement, now keep to your end of the bargain and post more!
