Agreed. Rtype Final was great, its story better than average as it had more depths and brilliant details. For example, you can see your own morphed-into-bydo spaceship escaping from time loop in alternate dimension at the start of the game - BRILLIANT attention to detail! I bet that people who write Rtype final off didn't even realize those details.Mortificator wrote:Start with Battle Garegga.
Anyway, a piece of real advice: don't turn unlocking ships into work. That'll make the game bite harder than a shark on tampon.
I wholeheartedly endorse this statement or product.Koa Zo wrote:quoted for truthshinsage wrote:the r-type games, and final in particular, have a pretty solid and at times engrossing backstory.
to write them off simply because of their genre is ignorant.
I found the last ending, ship left wandering in space, very nice and atmospheric.
What would you have wanted then? Big boss is destroyed with big bang, ship escapes space station/planet, and flies towards camera while alien stronghold explodes? (this kind of ending was parodied brilliantly in..parodius!)
